LSUDad
Well this one is going to dump a ton of water over it’s path area. As for now, they are saying, it should pass just West of Houston/Cypress. I’m still up in Woodstock, Ga. In my subdivision in Tx, they build retention ponds, allowing water from streets, to drain off into the ponds. Within my subdivision these ponds are connected with underground culverts. They all go up at the same time and down together. Draining of into creeks, rivers and bayous slowly. My cousin works with AT&T, they have been busy trying to install portable cell, replacing fixed towers. He told me that he had been setting up a portable unit down in Cocodrie. He was the lead guy when the SEC Network was starting up. He met with folks from LSU and the SEC Network. Before the meeting started, he asked a timeline, they told him, this was no rush, they were allowing weeks even months, he looked at the startup book. It didn’t look really too difficult. Within a few days, he called the Network, saying, I’m ready to start sending a signal. They said, we’ll call you back, the next day, he called again, they said LSU was the first, they really weren’t expecting a school to be ready this early. Anyway, LSU was the first to get online. When the other schools were trying to figure out their startup, other schools were give his number, he assisted the other school with their startups. I was heading to a game right after the network went online. I saw him coming out of the main trailer, parked in the West parking lot, he was there, in case they lost signal, or something went down. The area this storm is hitting now, the Rio Grande Valley, lower Tx. This is the area I drive through going down every year to our Border Crossing. During the dryer times of the year, the farmers use water from the Rio Grande River to flood their fields. They welcome the extra water.
