Fishhead
For those who think this is catastrophic, consider the following facts: 2020 127th2021 91st That's LSUs pass defense the last two years. Also, as evidenced by having to get transfers from the likes of Nichols State, his recruiting has sucked too. He was a great DB coach and did a lot of good at LSU, but the writing was on the wall. Fishhead
Here's the last 4.5 years recruiting CBs 2018: 0. Zero. None. Stingley (5 stars; 1 great season; 2 partial seasons he didn't finish. Hampton (4 stars, can't hit a curve, transferred Jones 4 stars, hasn’t really contributed Ward 3 star, converted to Safety; solid player, dog Flott 3 star turned into a very consistent performer in the slot 2020: Ricks 5 star; great freshman season; quit year 2; in portal Nudie 4 star turned into solid player this year, dog Evans (transfer from Nichols because Corey couldn’t field a full group of CBs in early 2020) 2021: McGhee 4 star barely played as a freshman The fact Jordan Allen wasn't offered until today speaks volumes. Herb
Sometimes when you want change you have to be careful what you wish for. Other times unexpected or undesired changes work out better in the long run. Buckle up, LSU Fans, there will be some high spoeed curves ahead. Herb
Note also that Ron Cooper was DB coach when Peterson, Matthieu, Claiborne, and others were here. Raymond kept DBU going but Cooper's inertia may have been part of Raymond's success. (Note that even though Ron Cooper built the "DB" University reputation, he is not related to or associated with "D.B. Cooper" who hopped off of a plane with a suitcase of cash back in the day.) He said they’d get word when the NCAA was coming in. All the $hit cars were in the dorm parking lot. The nice rides were moved on the other side of the building. His family was from up in Dallas, so very seldom they used his tickets. The tickets were in his locker, then gone, cash in a envelope was left in its place. Hatchertiger
And so where is Ron Cooper now? Of course he’s an analyst at Alabama.
