Five-star big man Yohan Traore commits to LSU

Will Wade has added his second five-star prospect in the senior class. This afternoon, top-25 prospect Yohan Traoreannounced his commitment to the Tigers men's basketball program.

The 6-foot-10, 225-pound big man by way of France who is finishing out his high school career at Glendale (Ariz.) Dream City Christian ranks as the No. 19 overall prospect in the country according to 247Sports and No. 15 overall according to the industry generated 247Sports Composite.

After picking LSU over the likes of Auburn, Memphis, Michigan and others, Traore joins five-star small forward Julian Phillipsand four-star big wing Devin Ree in a three man recruiting class that will move to No. 11 in the composite team rankings.

Traore will bring a great level of skill, efficiency, and productivity to Baton Rouge. His efficiency comes in how he generally plays within himself offensively and does what is asked of him on the floor.

He displays a natural shooting touch not only inside but out to 15 feet and he always looks dunk everything he possibly can while operating inside or in the dunker spot. He also has great hands, is a solid rebounder, and runs the floor with purpose. While he is a good athlete and does a good job on the block, Traore's offense is ahead of his defense at this point so he's got room to grow as a rim protector and one on one defender.

Other than the fact that we are playing like and being coached like crap, is there a reason why men's basketball isn't being discussed?

For me, its been a timing thing to be able to see games lately.

I did see several games in the early part of the season, but for the past 3 weeks life has interfered with me being able to sit down and watch.

The frustrating thing so far is that the early indications were that this was going to be a surprising season. We've lost something like 7 of the last 9 games though (guessing - haven't looked), so we've averaged out to where the season was expected to be. Interesting that the polls have kind of lagged.

I'm hoping for a late surge going into the tournament that will carry momentum into post season play. These kids need to quit trying to be 3 point heroes and bring the ball closer in before shooting.
