COTiger
Why no interest in our baseball team? Two posts on our series against Gumps.
Fishhead
I watched every game (although admittedly cut last night short to watch UFC) LSU took the series on the road today with a 12-3 beatdown. Our starting pitching is, well, sub par. Our pitching as a whole though is actually in the top 4 of the conference. Saturday night was a debacle. Honestly, Blake Money probably shouldn't start again until tourney time when we've used all our pitchers. I'd start Fontenot over him and hope to get 4 innings from him. I guess inflation affects all kinds of Money. Defense is still rough. JT is a liability at SS. Skip had a guy that committed more errors at SS than even Thompson, but that guy hit around .400 and went deep a LOT. Thompson has like 16 errors (officially) through 46 games. That's with the wizard at first base saving quite a few more. But.......the team can hit overall and really any spot in the lineup can go yard. Having to face Crews, Berry, Doughty, Morgan, all in a row.....that's gotta be scary for an opposing staff. Pearson and Little Stevenson can rake too, and JT seems to be coming around a bit at the plate. TMac is on fire at the plate. If he and Thompson weren't such liabilities on defense we'd be great even without a solid starting rotation. We're pretty good as is. 1
