Eq4bits Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 I saw on Twitter that Tigers lead at the half
Herb Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 Missed the 1st half. Tigers are looking as good as they have all yeaar. Was worried about focus coming into this game, but Will Wade has his kids ready. Time for the Tigers to start pulling away.
Fishhead Posted February 17, 2019 Author Posted February 17, 2019 Tigers win and remain road perfect in conference play!

houtiger Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 First game I watched this year, and I enjoyed it! The team has good balance, they seem competent at every position on the floor, and they seem to have 2 or 3 good reserves. I'm not sure why, but the player who caught my eye is Javonte Smart. I liked his game, he's not real flashy, but he shows up in the right spot and does his job. I think he's a smart player, and I know that sounds funny given his name, but I think it's true. Waters is great, but we already knew it. Naz Reid, he's a player.
Fishhead Posted February 18, 2019 Author Posted February 18, 2019 Naz is inconsistent, but fortunately seems to catch fire in the 2nd half. Waters is the best player, but Smart is a spark along with Emmitt Williams. Smart is definitely Mr. 6th man. Skylar Mays is still my fave though. Pre-Med with a 4.008 gpa, great kid and strong guard.

Naz Reid is deceptive...he throws up some shots that you think are misses and yet they go in. LSU's bench is fairly deep and the players tend to not get into foul trouble or foul out. When they do get into trouble, it doesn't translate into the team getting into any type of compromising position. They are a true team, and not just one or two superstars with a supporting collection of bodies.
houtiger Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 I wonder if the best thing for this team is to lose a game soon, to a team that does not have a great record. Teach them that they are not so good that they don't have to focus every play. Young teams that win a bunch of close games sometime get overconfident and against a great club, they don't seem to play well. Dropping one later in the season can bring that focus back, knock a little starch out of them.
