LSUDad Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Looking at where Jayden landed, a little look into the Washington Commanders. This Washington team is far beyond last season. New Coach, new General Manager, not many from the previous staff. They hit the Free Agent market as hard as anyone. Signing 20, of that number, 13 signing one year deals, and no deal longer than 3 years. Kliff Kingsbury was brought in as the OC, the guy can get his QB to put up numbers. A perfect fit for Jayden. Kingsbury runs high octane, shots down the field, spread the field, and up tempo. A new OL coach, only two players from last years starters return. They drafted one OL and picked up 3 in FA. Washington upgraded its WR and TE groups, this too will help Jayden. 4 wins last season, the same division as the Eagles, Cowboys and Giants. We'll see Jayden and Malik Nabers (NY Giants) the second game of the season Sept. 15th. That game should show how big a step each team made. 2 Quote

houtiger Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 I was wondering where Clyde E-H was last night. Looked it up, he is out for 4 games on NFI (non football injury), has complains of PTSD from his time at LSU. LSUDad Posted September 15, 2024 Author Posted September 15, 2024 LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — Jayden Daniels picked up his first win as an NFL quarterback, leading the Washington Commanders past the New York Giants 21-18 on Sunday thanks to a franchise-record seven field goals from new kicker Austin Seibert. Daniels engineered the go-ahead, 65-yard drive in the final minutes to get the ball into the red zone, setting up Seibert's 30-yard field goal that won it as the clock expired. Seibert's 7-for-7 performance came days after he replaced Cade York, who missed each of his two attempts in the season opener. The Commanders (1-1) came back to win an ugly game after the Giants lost kicker Graham Gano to injury on the opening kickoff. Not having Gano forced New York (0-2) to go for it on several fourth-down situations after punter Jamie Gillan missed an extra point attempt early. Daniels was 23 of 29 for 226 yards and rushed for 44 in his second professional start, beating former LSU teammate and fellow top-10 pick Malik Nabers in their first matchup in the league. Nabers was the Giants' best player with 10 catches for 127 yards and his first career TD reception. Nabers was targeted 18 times by Daniel Jones, who after a rough Week 1 was a respectable 16 of 28 for 178 yards and two touchdown passes. The Commanders overcame going 0 for 6 in the red zone and several penalties inside the New York 20. Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. carried the ball 17 times for 133 yards. He made the two longest runs of his pro career: 32 yards in the first half and 40 in the second. Ertz's Milestone Washington’s Zach Ertz became the 12th tight end in NFL history to surpass 7,500 yards receiving. The 33-year-old veteran made four catches for 62 yards as one of Daniels’ most popular targets. Injuries Nabers was cleared after being checked for a concussion late in the first quarter following a big hit from Washington’s Frankie Luvu. ... Cornerback Dru Phillips was also evaluated for a concussion and cleared late in the game. Quote

LSUDad Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Malik Nabers continues to prove the 2023 Biletnikoff voting got it wrong ByNicholas Rome|1 hour ago Indianapolis Colts v New York Giants | Ed Mulholland/GettyImages Last Season, Marvin Harrison Jr won the Biletnikoff Award over Malik Nabers in the closest race possible beating Nabers out by just one vote. The voting being that close was a shock especially as Nabers had better stats in a tougher conference. Nabers caught 86 passes for 1,564 yards and 14 touchdowns while Harrison caught 67 passes for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns. The excuse everyone made was that Harrison had worse quarterback play as Malik Nabers caught his passes from the Heisman Winner in Jayden Daniels. Thus far in their first seasons in the NFL, Malik Nabers is continuing to prove he was far and away the better player. On Sunday, Malik Nabers crossed the 1,000 yard mark and the 100 catch mark as he currently sits at 104 catches for 1,140 yards and 6 touchdowns on the year after an incredible 7 catches for 171 yards and 2 touchdown performance. This season, Marvin Harrison Jr has caught 57 passes for 822 yards and 7 touchdowns. This season, Harrison has played all 16 games while Malik Nabers has played 14 as he missed a pair of games with injuries. After the excuse was made last season that Nabers was only putting up better numbers due to his quarterback play, there's now no argument. Marvin Harrison Jr has been able to put up his numbers with Kyler Murray at quarterback while Nabers has played with Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, Drew Lock, and Tim Boyle. At the end of the day, Harrison will likely end up being a very good wide receiver in the NFL but, the point still stands that Malik Nabers is the best between the two and should've won the Biletnikoff in 2023. The end of season awards in College Football have become awards given to the more prestige player but, looking back choosing Harrison over Nabers will age poorly. 2 Quote

LSUDad Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Malik Nabers sets New York Giants franchise record as a Rookie ByNicholas Rome|21 hours ago New York Giants v Philadelphia Eagles | Mitchell Leff/GettyImages The New York Giants haven't given their fanbase a ton to cheer for this season as they'll miss the playoffs while having an abysmal season in their 100th season as a franchise. One of the lone bright spots in a lost season has been Malik Nabers the team's 6th overall pick out of LSU. As a Rookie, Nabers has carried the Giants passing attack putting up massive performance after massive performance. On Sunday, Malik Nabers took a hold of a New York Giants franchise record as he passed Steve Smith's 2009 season for the most receptions in a single season. In this game, Malik Nabers set the record for the most receptions by a rookie wide receiver and will now battle Brock Bowers for the most receptions in a single season by any rookie regardless of position. Many will argue that Nabers record isn't the real record because of the additional game on the schedule but, the argument doesn't apply to Nabers who will finish the year with just 15 games played as he missed time with an injury. 1 Quote
