LSUDad
Another mock draft, 4 Tigers in the first round? Who's the guy that's in this draft? A first round grade? https://www.the33rdteam.com/2025-nfl-mock-draft-latest-first-round-predictions-entering-week-3/
LSUDad
I've looked at a number of Mock Drafts during the last couple days. After looking, 5 players are showing up. OT Campbell OT Jones LB Perkins (We'll see after the injury) QB Nuss WR Lacy, this is the newest name showing up. I'm going to try and call a good friend, that's a long time NFL Scout. Get his opinion. I'll add my thoughts on Nuss, we are seeing him make all the throws. Sets up in the pocket. He hits his targets well. Remember this, what if he had a Chase, Jets, Thomas, or a combination of any of the top two WR's we've had since the 2019 season? What would his numbers look like? When Johnny Football was playing at aTm, I said he'd have problems in the NFL. LSU and Chief exposed his weakness. His main weakness, he couldn't throw from the pocket. Yep, he never beat LSU. We kept him in the pocket, he couldn't get outside of it. Just enough of a rush, just enough to have the pocket collapse on him. Remember this, Mike Sherman was the head coach before Kevin Sumlin, he built an Offense Line, that was his specialty. So many of the linemen during that time went into the NFL. Oh, Mike Sherman's Son in Law? Joe Burrows Head Coach at Cincy. I don't know what will happen, but keeping Nuss for another year, that would be big time. Remember what happened with Joe and Jayden in their second years. Still lots of ball to play. Edited September 25 by LSUDad
Hatchertiger
The worry I have for next year is that we will be losing just about our entire starting o- line. I'm sure Nuss is cognizant of that fact.

A former LSU Head Coach use to say, the best thing about freshmen, is when they turn sophomores. A returning center, it will help. I get what you're saying, still a ways to go. But then again, Jayden had two true freshmen protecting him and a put together OL. Edited September 25 by LSUDad
LSUDad
I did get to talk with a friend that's been an NFL Scout for years. I gave him my thoughts on Nuss and he gave me his. We both agree that Nuss will have a decision at the end of the season. If he continues to put up the numbers, make plays, he may go too high in the draft. Leaving him with little reason to return. Thats a good thing, it means, LSU had a good finish to the season. Nuss is that typical in the pocket passer, NFL teams want these guys. We talked about the Perkins injury, that changes his draft situation. As for the 3-4 OL, a yes, not just the two OT's. The two Guards come into play. Delly is a big guy, moves well, carries his weight, does a good job at the position. At the 6'5", 320lb range, he will have a great shot at getting drafted. Frazier also will end up in an NFL camp. As for the two OT's, there are a good number of positions teams look at first in the draft. QB, OT, WR on one side of the ball. Rush End and CB at times go high in the draft. You can also look at other positions, but with a first round pick, teams want a guy that can give help right away. Lacy needs to continue to get better at his position.
