Nutriaitch Posted October 29 Author Posted October 29 so to expound on that a little more. We throw the ball at a ridiculous percentage on 1st & 10. Predictable makes it easier to defend. Run the ball at a ridiculous percentage on 2nd & 10. Predictable makes it easier to defend. brings up 3rd & 8. pretty much have to throw. get pressure and Nuss gets happy feet. our 3 longest runs came on: 1st & 10 - 15 yards 2nd & 4 - 12 yards 1st & 10 - 10 yards going away from tendencies catches them a little off balance which makes it easier to be successful just mix up the sequencing a bit instead of following a very readable pattern and slack off on the 15+ yard pass routes on 1st down. take the 5 yards and stay on schedule. it’s cliche but keep yourself in manageable distances and it opens up the entire playbook. Period. yeah, I thought with this joe moore nominated (pre season) o-line, that we would be able to run the ball, but it hasn't worked out. My crush, Kaleb Jackson, does not see the hole, just my opinion. When BK was asked about Jackson, he said Kaleb is young and he's learning to play the position. There is a deficiency there, and Durham does not have that deficiency. I hope Kaleb comes around. Maybe he doesn't wait for the play to develop, so there is no hole because he wasn't patient enough to let it get opened. Quote
Herb Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I have no illusions about Nuss' abilities. He is not a JB or JD. He does have dedication to LSU and was still fighting until the end, though. 1 Quote

The O-Line is definitely one of them. But our overall offensive identity magnifies that issue. 13 hours ago, houtiger said: My crush, Kaleb Jackson, does not see the hole, just my opinion. He runs to wherever the play is called with no vision or instincts. Durham has that same issue at times, but is shifty and fast enough to make a very late adjustment and still gain yards. Josh Williams is better about finding the hole, but let's be honest. He's limited on what he does after that if the hole is gaping. Quote

dachsie Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Nuss needs to learn how to run. If I am remembering correctly, he could have run instead of throwing that 1st interception and gained some yards. Is the only time he runs when it's a designed play? I think he's only run twice this year. Quote

Dunham can change speeds, sees green grass, slows down when needed, then hits the gas. His legs keep moving, as a RB, that's one of the first things taught. 1 Quote
