cadillacattack Posted Thursday at 01:36 AM Posted Thursday at 01:36 AM Hello, friends….LSU looks pretty solid this season   I think Nuss is lined up for a big year. How do y’all feel about the schedule? Quote

How do y’all feel about the schedule? I read that something like 7 or the 12 most difficult schedules in the nation belong to SEC teams. LSU is in the middle of the 7, like 3rd or 4th hardest schedule in the SEC. Last year we clearly were not ready on defense, although we were better than the year before. BK had said something about not hitting the portal so hard in late 2023, developing the players he recruited. That did not work out well for the 2024 season. Some kids, you miss on recruiting, they don't develop, or don't develop fast enough. Some think they should be playing, and they leave to find a starting spot. This year, BK appears to have fixed that problem and hit the portal hard in the secondary, DT, DE, WR, TE, couple on the o-line (must have gotten some money. BK wrote a personal check to the NIL fund for $1 million). I think all were necessary. In recent years, we probably had a good starting 22, but we lacked depth and an injury to a key player, we could not replace him with an "almost as good" guy. The drop offs were very noticeable. It appears to me we will have some quality depth at most positions this year. An exception is at QB, if anything happens to Nuss the dropoff at QB is significant, so I have read. The o-line will have 4 or 5 new starters, and news from camp is the d-line is eating up the o-line. Josh Pate said the ceiling for the season is 11-1, but his base case is 9-3. I'll go 10-2. What's do you think about Auburn this year? Quote
