Fishhead Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Still planning on doing the podcasts, but I'll be headed to Florida barring significant change in track with this one. Although y'all know I'm gone a lot, I actually haven't worked a hurricane as a field adjuster since 2005. I've either stayed where I was when it hit, worked in office somewhere, or worked as a manager/trainer for hurricane events. Wife is currently in office deployed to Ft. Worth, and we decided if a hurricane hit, I'd go run it as an adjuster. That's where the best money is and she's not here anyway. She'll work for 2 weeks following the storm then self release with a 2 week notice, allowing her to join me in a month. She's been in Ft. Worth since early June, so she's ready to go.
Fishhead Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 Well I don't have a Bahamas license, so we wait lol
Fishhead Posted September 5, 2019 Author Posted September 5, 2019 Alright, looking like SC for me, possibly NC, possibly both. I'd prefer either over Florida if I'm actually handling claims. Hoping for SC, Charleston or Myrtle Beach
dachsie Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Just got an alert from TWC app that Charleston is flooded. Keep us posted where you land
Fishhead Posted September 6, 2019 Author Posted September 6, 2019 Booked a room in N Charleston, about 11 miles inland by the airport.
Fishhead Posted September 6, 2019 Author Posted September 6, 2019 Wife released herself from her assignment in Ft. Worth, so waiting for her to get home. We'll be heading out this afternoon.
COTiger Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Are you & your wife both in the same line of business?
Fishhead Posted September 6, 2019 Author Posted September 6, 2019 We typically work together, but she took an in office assignment and I've been just working my home area and going up to Ft. Worth on weekends while she's been there.
COTiger Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 As you know I've been around for a day or two. I think this is the first situation I've heard of where a husband and wife are allowed to work together. That's assuming it's not a privately owned company by the husband & wife.
Herb Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 CO, I believe they met on the job (but I could be mistaken).

I can recall one instance where a husband & wife worked for the same company at the same location. But they worked in different departments that very rarely interacted with each other.
