Nutriaitch
I'm tossing this up here after 11 games (and will update as we play more) mainly because prior to 2002, that's how many games counted toward your season stats. This topic will be heavy in numbers current numbers ; projected numbers ; situational stats ; etc. (yeah I'm a numbers geek) Gonna do mostly individual players, but trying to find some team numbers as well. If I leave anyone out, just ask for that guy and I'll see what i can dig up on him.
Nutriaitch
1st up, Mr. Justin Jefferson. Jefferson is sitting at 75 rec ; 1,037 yds, 12 TDs on the season. the 12 Tds is tied for 2nd all-time in a season for LSU. 1,037 is 9th best individual season in LSU history as well. JJ is also slowly but steadily moving up the career lists. his 1,912 career yards is only 83 yards from the top 10 in LSU history. 18 career TD catches is tied for 7th all-time.
Nutriaitch
Ja'Marr Chase HO LEE SH¡T this guy here. 15 TD's (and counting) is the most in LSU history in a single season, and is actually one shy of top 10 for a CAREER here. and 1,260 receiving yards is second only to Josh Reed's absolutely ridiculous 2001 season. 4 consecutive 100 yard receiving games is 2nd most all-time in Tiger history. And that streak is still active. With a minimum of 3 to go, he could potentially pass up Reed's record of 6 straight. This season alone, he has 2 of the top 5 best receiving (yardage) games in LSU history. and his 4 TD performance against Vandy is tied for 2nd best ever for a Tiger.
Nutriaitch
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Clyde is (somewhat quietly) on pace for an all-time great LSU rushing season. as in really damn close to the top of the list. over the next 3 games, if Clyde maintains his season average, he'll finish with a stat line of: 1,459 yards, and 19 TDs for those keeping score at home, that would be the 3rd best yardage season in LSU history. Just ahead of Jeremy Hill's phenomenal 2013 season and right behind Charles Alexander in '77. the 19 TDs would be tied with Toefield in '01 for 2nd most. but here is where Clyde has been HUGE....Conference games. Overall, Clyde is 2nd in SEC in total rushing yards. He's about 70 yards behind Kylin Hill of Miss St. But if you look at only SEC games, Clyde takes over the #1 spot. His Per Game Average jumps from 104 ypg to 127 ypg His last 4 games (which includes both schools from that sh¡thole two states east of here) his average skyrockets to 149 ypg. Clyde has been racking up the "chunk plays" too. he leads the entire SEC in running plays of 20+ yards, and his 89 yarder against Arky is the most of any Tiger in Death Valley history. in SEC games only, he also leads (or is tied) the league in : 30+ , 40+, 50+, 70+, & 80+ yard runs. and let's not forget his 15 total rushing TD's lead the SEC as well.
