SEC allowing two hours per week of film review and video instruction starting Monday

Spring football has returned to the Southeastern Conference in the weirdest of ways.

The SEC informed its teams on Friday that they will be able to give film review and and instruction to players via video conference for two hours per week, beginning on Monday, as originally reported by 247Sports.

Student athletes will have access to strength and conditioning workouts digitally.

“Further assessment of permitted offseason and/or summer activities will occur in the coming weeks,” according to the memo.

LSU’s facilities are closed except for housing, meal services, medical care and academic support that are open to its athletes as needed.

There has been no shortage of speculation surrounding the possibility that conferences like the SEC could shorten the season, cancel the season or play games with no fans, but there’s been no confirmation of any of this.

If anything, such speculation is premature, as LSU athletic director Scott Woodward said earlier this week.

It will be interesting to see how things shake out, with sports unable to truly move forward in a positive direction until the COVID-19 outbreak is fully contained.
