LSUDad
LSU star Ja'Marr Chase, the nation's top WR, expected to opt out of season and declare for 2021 NFL Draft By Dennis Dodd 39 mins ago1 min read USATSI LSU star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase has informed the team that he is choosing to opt out of the 2020 college football season to concentrate on his professional career, sources close to the situation told CBS Sports. A formal announcement is expected Monday with Chase, the nation's top returning wideout, declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.
houtiger
This is going to get very interesting. LSU is not going to be the only school where this happens. Chase draft stock will not drop, he has a risk if COVID affected him more than the usual person, or he risks an injury. I think Dylan Moses at InbredGumps has to play, he sat last year out with an injury, he has to show he's back. Now a question, yes, losing Chase will hurt. But, we have been recruiting wide receivers like crazy it seems. There is a lot of young unproven talent, but when you look at star quality, there is a lot of top quality talent on the roster. As stocked as we are, I don't see this as a devastating blow to our season.
LSUDad
McMath, could have started at almost every SEC school. But we will run more, but remember the TE position will be used more.
Hatchertiger
We have talent but not tons of experience at WR w/ Chase out. When your best offensive player isn't playing, you are gonna feel that.
LSUDad
The Chase deal was not entirely him, outside influences. Wish him the best and move on! Who gets the deserving #7? I would rather thank him and move on.
