Nutriaitch
anyone following what's going on with MLB spring training this year? they have a few rules changes going on that I'm not sure if i hate or just really don't like. A. Games through March 13 can be shortened to 5 or 7 innings if both managers agree (Games starting on March 14th can be shortened to 7) B. Apparently pitchers can re-enter a game after being removed C. A manager can end an inning after a pitcher has thrown 20 pitches. (yes, end the inning, not just remove a pitcher). On the shortening games, I guess I get it. In spring you sometimes have split squads etc. so I can see where playing a full 9 may not be necessary. Especially considering the last 3 will all be played with mostly guys that won't make the roster. I can't really think of a single good reason for a pitcher to re-enter. 1st, well that goes against any possibly situation that could ever happen in a real game. and 2nd, it's not exactly healthy to get full warmed, pitch, cool off, then try to do it again. And the 20 pitch thing.....are you fornicating serious? take your lumps like a man. get some damn outs, or get out of the game.
