Projecting the Baseball Lineup

so now that the roster has been officially released, we can start taking stabs at who starts and plays where.

I think it's safe to say that 6 guys are pretty much 100% guaranteed to be in the lineup.

Dylan Crews
Gavin Dugas
Cade Doughty
Jacob Berry
Tre' Morgan
Tyler McManus

McManus sill take the starting catcher gig from Morgan O'Malley. shyte, I mean Alex Milazzo.  Milazzo is a stud behind the plate, but can't hit for shyte. TMac can flat out rake. The difference is too big to ignore.  When you can hit like him, all you have to do behind the dish is not suck.

Crews and Dugas will occupy 2 of the 3 outfield spots.

So where do you plug in everyone else?

Morgan back to first? or as Fish thinks, as the 3rd outfielder?

Berry is a corner IF by trade or a DH.  Does he play 1B? 3B? let him just swing?

Does Doughty hang on to 3rd? Go back to 2B since Arnold is gone?

Other guys that need plate appearances and/or spots in the defense.

Brayden Jobert.  another big bat (16 tanks last years at Delgado). can play 1B or outfield.

Brody Drost. not a bad defensive outfielder. has some pop too. last year at the Lafayette game he smoked one all the way to Abbeville.

Drew Bianco. came on strong down the stretch last year. with an actually hitting coach on campus now, who knows what he might be able to do.

Jordan Thompson. cannon of an arm and a solid glove at SS. needs some seasoning at the plate, but has shown some flashes.

Cade Beloso. Hit well in fall ball. Needs to get fat again though.

Gio DiGiacomo. With healthy legs is FAST in the outfield.

Can't recall this much potential at the plate in quite a while. Drost could be somebody who steps up his game, showed flashes last season. The talk around Lafayette is how much more raw power Josh Stevenson has than his brother did.  Hopefully he can match Andrew's speed which is what got him on the field as a freshman. Really looking forward to this season.  I haven't really studied the rest of the SEC yet.
