Nutriaitch Posted April 17, 2022 Share Posted April 17, 2022 Ok, so we're halfway through the SEC slate. Plenty deep enough to know we are we? As we thought, this team can hit ... Sometimes Batting average for our top 9 (9 dudes with most at bats) is nearly 20 points higher than last hear (.308 vs .290). We're averaging roughly a HR more per game this season than we did last year (2.5 vs 1.4). HOWEVER, we can't freaking score way too often. We're damn near a run per game behind last year's pace (5.12 vs 6.57) Pitching has been a pleasant surprise. Of the guys with 20+ innings pitched, our ERA is significantly lower than last year's guys with 20+ innings pitched (3.77 vs 4.47) Currently we're averaging a hair over 10 K per game (10.08) last year we was just over 9 (9.01). Walks are awfully close to equal (3.5 vs 3.4) Fielding WE fornicating SUCK We're averaging half an error more per game than last season. A pace fast enough that we'll catch last year's season total in about 2 weeks. Meaning with 3 series to go, plus any postseason we participate in. Hatchertiger Posted April 18, 2022 Share Posted April 18, 2022 This team is almost Dr. Jekyl Mr. Hyde. We could go on a a tear and make it to Omaha or limp into a regional and go 2 and BBQ. Fielding has cost us games and is the obvious limitation on this team. We would have at least won a game vs Arky if not for that. However, it appears the toughest part of our schedule is behind us and we have the opportunity to win some series. It begins this weekend vs. Mizzou.
