Nutriaitch
In an unusual scheduling quirk, LSU play Nicholls for a 2nd time this year (and for some reason we don't play La Tech) First pitch scheduled 6:30pm tonight at The Box Radio / TV: the usual suspects. 98.1 FM in the Baton Rouge area to hear Chris Blair and Doug Thompson on the call. Or as always, you can listen for free in the LSUSports app. SECN+ has the TV coverage on the ESPN app. Weather: 72° under cloudy skies. Winds drifting in from left-left center at 7mph with an occasional gust around 10 mph. Very minimal rain chances throughout the night (7% because we apparently no longer give chances in increments of 5) Pitchers:
Hatchertiger
Remember the old chant, "We want a pitcher not a glass of water!" Johnny Wholestaff is who I predict. 1
Nutriaitch
Nicholls up 3-0. couple men on top 3rd, 1 out
Nutriaitch
Stapleton on the mound now. Nicholls still batting top 5th, leading LSU 3-
Fishhead
Nicholls has the best defense I've seen all season without question
Fishhead
And Travinsky (the catcher) needs work catching the baseball. He had that issue last year and it was maddening. When the catcher doesn't actually catch the ball, I bet it influences the umpire on a close pitch. He ain't calling it a strike if the catcher can't even handle it
Fishhead
Ronnie Rantz is legit dumb
Fishhead
4-4 top 9 and everything goes wrong. Travinsky can't catch, so they bring in Millazo, who...can't catch. Unreal.
Fishhead
Finally to the bottom, 6-4 Nicholls Need 3. It'll have to be some combo of walks/HBPs and a homer, because anything we leave in the park, they friggin catch
Fishhead
The silver lining... Dropped our first midweek game last week, got our first sweep last weekend. Coincidence? I hope not. But let's just win

Nobody out and Jones is a grown arse man Frey rips a single, 1 on nobody out Dugas rips a single, runners on 1st and 2nd, nobody out Pearson Ks 1 down 2 on Crews walks (shocking, I know), bases loaded Cade up, ball, ball, strike, unreal...bloop, of course unbelievable catch by some dude that looks like Nootch 20 years ago, Merrifield just, IDK, assumed it was dropping, and took off hauling ass from 2nd, literally ran past the Frey at 3rd, double play. This is midweek baseball. You have a catcher playing that can't...catch a baseball. You have a dude wanting so badly to be the winning run not realizing the ball may be caught, all that shyte. Nicholls was badass defensively. Unreal.
