I would go out on a limb and take LSU and the over, gotta win 10 games.  Fla. St. will be tough.  Gumps is Gumps, but they lost a Heisman QB.  Is Fla. back yet?  Ole Miss, who knows?

A&M 7.5, ouch, little faith in Jimbo.

Gumps 10.5, could they drop 2 games?  Maybe.

Gumps could drop 2 games, they could drop 2 or more games. They have to replace both the OC and DC, as for the OC, Nick went to ND, got the OC, a guy Kelly knows very well. Nick had him bring his QB with him from ND.

For his DC, he went with a guy that was at LSU for a season, Kevin Steele.

Gumps beat UTx by 1

Beat aTm by 4

Beat Ole Myth by 6.

A loss to LSU and Tennessee.

As for the Fla St game, many of the guys that started that game for LSU , on both sides of the ball. We’re not starting by seasons end. Fla St returns a bunch on both sides of the ball.

Is Florida back yet, I don’t think so. Weakness on the OL and WR, yep WR. But they still have the RB Etienne, they picked up a QB in the portal from Wisconsin.
They finished 6-7, the bowl loss to Oregon St. 30-3, was a bad way to end a season.

With aTm, they were picked by just about everyone to finish behind Gumps in the West, also a top 10 finish with a outside chance to make the playoffs. A 5-7 team, is still dangerous, ask LSU. You just never know what you are going to get. Bobby Petrino comes in to call plays, Will Jimbo give him the keys? Are they able to work together?

As for the Tigers:

We have a over/under of 9.5, last years line was 6.5, that was too easy to bet. I took that one along with Joe Burrow and the Bengals, I went with Joe a few times, might have lost only one time.
The return of 4 of the 5 OL, a number of WR’s, RB’s and a ND transfer. TE with Taylor returning, upgrades at the TE position. With a seasoned QB, an backup, this QB room, looks to be one of the better if not the best in the SEC. Jayden added a little weight, he’s more solid.

As for the defense. Smith returns, the loss of him in the Fla St game, the rest of the season, was felt. We return a good group of last year’s defense. The loss of some players, you look to the portal. An we did, one from UTx, one from Oregon St and one from Syracuse. All would be starters at the schools they transferred from.

Much of our staff returns, DL and Special Teams coaches are the two replacements.

As for the portal, I see 29 players from other schools that have transferred in, that’s a full recruiting class. Kelly and staff have used the portal to their advantage.

Mike Watters-USA TODAY Sports

  • Expected Starter: Jayden Daniels
  • Notable Backups: Garrett Nussmeier, Rickie Collins

There were a lot of questions surrounding Daniels after he transferred to LSU from Arizona State. He silenced all of the doubters by leading the Tigers to a 10-win season last year. His goal this fall is to win a national championship on the bayou.
