LSUDad
I tell folks all the time, whatever position they play, get them into deep snapping. Look no further than Brian Kinchen, retired, out of the league, gets a call. Super Bowl ring. Great story.

I tore off siding at my camp, installed new, painted/stain/sealer, then hung a new ceiling fan. Finished up around midnight.

Nutriaitch
this: ive been around baseball for a LOOOOOONG time . And i’ve always said, leave a kids batting stance alone here’s a brief write up from a coaching newsletter i get Even a player who is 8 years old, knows that every hitter will hit with a different batting stance. No 2 hitters have the same batting stance, it is very unique to that particular hitter. So what? The problem is most instruction begins with the batting stance. The General Rules: Feet Wide Knees Bent Bend at the waist Elbow up and my all time favorite..... Check your grip. If the greatest hitters in the world all used different batting stances, does it make any sense to try to make everyone hit in the same stance This is where a lot of hitting instruction is today. Let's imagine a few Stances: Pete Rose Babe Ruth Mike Schmidt Stan Musial Ernie Banks Jeff Bagwell Kevin Youkalis Julio Franco Get the picture? All big league hitters. Many are hall of fame hitters. Not 1 of them stood in the same stance. If someone is trying to force 1 stance on your hitter, and every hitter, that's a RED FLAG. I would run, and run fast in the other direction. The closer you get to the hitter making contact with the baseball is where hitters are most a like. The point of contact, just before contact, and just after contact. The more to the beginning you get, the more hitters will have a lot of variation. Batting Stances will have a ton of variation. How hitters load and begin will have a ton of variation. - Stride distance, stride length. - High Leg kick. - Low Leg kick. - Short Stride. - Big Stride. It's not until the hitters front foot begins to hit the ground that hitters start to look a like. Secret # All players move differently. In a sense we all like different music. Let your hitter hit to music. His music, not yours. Let your hitter find how he wants to move. Then work efficient movement patterns around it. Secret # Don't force 1 particular stance or style. Let the hitter experiment. Your job as a coach or parent is to simply guide the experiment. The worst experiment you can ever do, is the one you don't do. Secret # Clearly know the difference of what great hitters do a like vs. Individual style (what they do different) If you can clearly understand the difference between style and universal principle, you can improve your swing technique and hitting performance at a higher level. Secret # Copy/Imitate and Watch Great Hitters. Nothing is wrong with copying a stance or swing. In fact visual imitation is powerful way to learn. Let the hitter watch great hitters. In fact have a system in place in which your hitter can see great hitters often. Use your technology available to you. The bottom line is this: Don't force one particular way on every hitter. Especially NOT the batting stance. If you want to be a game ready hitter, click here for my FREE DVD. If you need to build explosive hitting strength, then click here. Nutriaitch
where you are right before, right at, and immediately following contact are what’s important. everything up to and after are irrelevant.
