Texas bowl is Big 12 vs SEC, the Alamo bowl is Big 12 vs PAC.  A&M and tu should have been matched in Texas bowl but someone said no - most likely Texas as they are still butthurt over A&M leaving

Alamo gets first choice (of non-NY6 bowls) of Big XII teams.

Meaning Texas Bowl never had a shot at them for them to say no.

Here's something interesting:

So,

1. LSU

vs all the teams we've beaten for National Championships in our history.

'58 Clemson

'03 OU

'07 tOSU

*Bonus

All 3 games played in NOLA

**For accuracy

Technically we were already named National Champs prior to the Sugar against Clemson in '58

The following are instant reaction quotes:

On No. 1 LSU:

  • Herbstreit: “It has been a long time since we have seen anything like LSU’s offense.”
  • Palmer: “It appears to me that the committee has looked closely at LSU, the team, peaking at the right time, playing their best football now and getting in over [Ohio State] who had been more complete over the course of an entire season and 13 games.”
  • Pollack: “It’s been crazy fans for a long time. LSU fans are nuts. Now they are losing their minds.”
  • Pollack: “Look at the offense and the way that whole team has changed. They have a legitimate chance to win a national title.”
  • Pollack: “It’s been fun to watch them grow throughout the season and I don’t think that anyone up here is going to say there is a defense in there that can stop them consistently.”
  • Fowler: “SEC Championship was virtual road game for LSU. It was filled with Georgia fans and from the beginning, LSU handled the pressure of a postseason game for the first time. They go on the road, in a game they were told they didn’t even have to win to be in the playoff, and they were dominant from the start. That is why they got number one, not because of anything Ohio State didn’t do.”

Cheez-it Bowl: Air Force vs. Washington State
9:15 pm
ESPN

Air Force running a modern version of the Veer/Triple Option Vs. all out Air Raid of Washington State.

Absolute Polar Opposite ends of the spectrum

Air Force has 2nd most rushing attempts in country (10 fewer than Army). Washington State has over 100 fewer rushing attempts than anyone else in America

on other hand, Washington State has over 100 pass attempts more than anyone else in the country. Air Force has 2nd fewest pass attempts (21 behind Navy).
