Fishhead Posted September 22, 2018 Share Posted September 22, 2018 After the big win in Jordan Hare last weekend, the Tigers jumped to #6 in the polls and are playing in Tiger Stadium Saturday Night!! Break out your purple for this weekend annual "Purple Game". Reviewing last week's big win, it was refreshing seeing the OL seemingly coming together. Im hoping to see more of the same this week, and would like to see a focus on developing more consistency in the passing game. I have been very impressed with #4 thus far. Nick has shown great patience for a RB, and most impressively, more explosion thru the hole when it opens than I thought he possessed. But the passing game will help him and the other backs with defenses having to account for the pass more than recent years. If I recall correctly, Derek Dooley left Tiger Stadium claiming a moral victory last time these Bulldogs came to town. I think it goes back to when Dad was the Corps Commander of LSU's ROTC in 1954. LSU had the top ROTC unit in the 4th Army District and aTm had the top cavalry unit in the district. There was a huge rivalry between both schools as well as their ROTC units. (It was a different country back then.) The hatred was strong between them, but each school had the utmost respect for the other. I've learned to hate Ole goldenshower like each and every good Tiger should, but to this day I hate Kentucky more than any other school. Being raised amongst a bunch of hill-billies who preferred basketball to football has, unfortunately, scarred me for life. I may just have to change my name to "The Weird Kid" or "Wanna-be-Coon-Ass." (edit: Seriously? "Ole Pi$$" is translated to "goldenshower" ??? This is hilarious! I'm loving our new home more and more every day!) He was a transfer from Tulane - who as we all know - had a National Championship not too long ago (excuse me while I get back on my chair). Marc, my Dad was an Aggie back when EVERYBODY was in the Corps of Cadets. I'm not sure, but I think it was all male back then, too. He was in the Class of 1947. Played piccolo in the Fightin' Aggie Band.. When I was choosing a college, he told me he would support me in going to either A&M or LSU. Why LSU? He said he recalled an Aggie Band trip to Tiger Stadium and he said everyone was very, very nice - except the football team. He also said the atmosphere in Tiger Stadium was the only place he ever saw that compared to "Aggieland". When I was a little kid, I was taught the Aggie War Hymn and all of the other Aggie songs.
