It's happened three times in seven inning games.

Hatchertiger
Our bats have got to come around, the back half of the lineup especially. The freshman are going to have to learn what to do with all the sliders etc. they are seeing, this ain't high school anymore. Way too many strikeouts. Need to at least make contact to put pressure on the defense. Not ready to throw in the towel. Its baseball, things can change dramatically in a hurry. The pitching is there we gotta hit the darn ball!!!!!!!!!!
cajunlostincali
It has been said that the new greenie hitting coach is not so much a technique instructor, but rather a mental messager. Greenie hitters under him have said that once the mental aspect has taken hold, hitting really starts to improve. This game is a game of who is strongest when the end of regular season comes leading into post season. Florida in 17 had a similar start, so my patience is still there, but we have a brutal SEC slate this year we need to survive just to even be hot at the end. The rally possum season is similar to what we are seeing so far, though hitting was arguably better even then than now. These youngins just need to grind it out and look at days like these for inspiration. In some cases, it can only get better
COTiger
Scott Long is spot on in his analysis of the weekend series. Too damn many K's, too many runners left in scoring position, and shaky relief pitching. https://www.dandydon.com/

Storz, Hill, Fontenot, Beck were spot on. a total of 3 hits and 1 run in 7 innings pitched. Can’t ask for a whole lot better than that. in no way, shape, or form can you blame pitching for this weekend.
