You had to know all those Curtis kids, what about the Fabachers?

I was same class with Tommy Fabacher who I believed walked on at LSU. He dated Joanna Curtis.

Michael Stonebreaker,Kirk Russel, and Steve McCready were a year ahead of me.

Russell and Stonebreaker got involved in an altercation at Melius' Bar in the French Quarter, Russell was stabbed 7 times in the chest with an ice pick. Stonebreaker sustained minor injuries trying to ward off the dude with the ice pick. Kirk eventually recovered and played a little for Houston. Stonebreaker obviously with Notre Dame and eventually the Bears

As Steve Sarkisian looks to continue to build a strong staff in Austin, we’re told that he’s going after the lone remaining member of the LSU defensive staff.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Sark has made a very strong offer to bring LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond to Texas.

Raymond has been a part of the LSU coaching staff since 2011 and currently serves a the Tigers corners coach and recruiting coordinator. He previously spent a few seasons in Baton Rouge as an intern and assistant strength coach before starting his coaching journey.

Considered a very strong recruiter, Raymond has previous coaching stops at Nebraska, and Utah State between his stints at LSU. He spent a handful of season in the NFL with the Giants and Lions, where he played corner.

LSU parted ways with defensive coordinator Bo Pelini shortly after the season ended. Safeties coach Bill Busch will not return and defensive line coach Bill Johnson is moving into a different role and will not be one of the countable coaches moving forward.

Orgeron is meeting with Cincinnati defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman today and stated on Baton Rouge radio earlier this week Freeman was his primary target for the job. Will be interesting to see if Orgeron can land Freeman; and if they can retain Corey Raymond.

LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond received a three-year extension worth over $600K a year, according to the university's term sheet, which is the basis for the new contract before the LSU Board of Supervisors is expected to approve the deal in March.

The former LSU defensive back received a 30 percent raise after another impressive season from the secondary, which included projected 2020 first round NFL Draft pick Kristian Fulton and All-American Derek Stingley, Jr.

Texas A&M made a run at bringing Raymond to College Station this offseason, but Raymond turned the Aggies down to remain in Baton Rouge. Raymond is routinely mentioned with schools trying to hire him away from LSU, but he's opted to remain at LSU through all the interest.

Citing "sources" Footballscoop reporting LSU will interview Ryan Nielson

From an outsider who does not know any coaches, this does not look like an impressive hire.  I can imagine that O knows him because O was a d-line coach for the Saints, but his resume is not impressive to me.  That is not the only thing that counts, but it would look better if the resume was stronger.  He might work out to be great, but if he doesn't O is gonna take a lot of heat, and deservedly so.  You would think that a lot of good DC's would like to come to LSU and coach our talent.
