Hatchertiger
My kids gave me a turntable for Christmas and I have been spinning my old albums. Son in law was checking out my collection and asked how many Beatles albums I have. And I replied “All of them”. Yes it is a completely different sound and experience when you listen to a vinyl album. Found a store here that sells used albums can’t wait to check out what they have!

Hatchertiger
That's an impressive haul there Sir Nootch! My last purchase is a used Glen Campbell Wichita Lineman album. Always admired his versatility as a singer, songwriter and musician. He was even a member of The Wrecking Crew.
Nutriaitch
so Hatch, I recently did comparisons of my new vinyl with my dad’s original copies of 3 absolute classics. Dark Side of the Moon Led Zeppelin’s untitled fourth album Abbey Road there is an absolute difference in sound quality between the two. new ones are thicker and heavier than the old ones. and that carries over into the sounds. new ones sound fuller and cleaner. very crisp. older ones sound thinner and more distant, and not as sparkling. they retains the hissing, popping, and crackling of the original vinyl sound. personally give me the older sound.
Hatchertiger
I have both and have to admit I've never compared the old vinyl to the new vinyl sound. I'm happy to have a turntable again!!! Its enjoyable to sit down and listen to an entire album in this fast, "one click" world we live in.
Herb
As part of our basement remodeling job, one feature will be a turntable prominently displayed on a counter and I will be starting to build a series of custom, heavy duty pull-out drawers that will hold our albums. I'll have 6 drawers that will be 21 inches deep holding records. (There will be 6 drawers to hold compact discs also.) This will give me growing room to essentially double the vinyl collection we have now. I have to prevent myself from going to www.discogs.com these days because I might go overboard...apparently I still need to feed my wife.

Herb
There is a place in the Fell's Point area of Baltimore called the Sound Garden that sells new and used vinyl. When the weather is nice and I am in my office I'll walk over there (it's about a mile from my office) and flip through the used stacks. Often I'll find records marked at 3 for $10. Last $10 haul was: Jeff Beck: Blow by Blow Santana: Santana III (aka as "man with outstretched hand" album and featured a 17 year old Neal Schon, who went on to be the guitarist for Journey) Stephen Stills: Stephen Stills II I also buy a fair amount from www.discogs.com. You can find anything new or used there and I try to support independent music stores rather than make Bezos richer.
Hatchertiger
The Eagles brought country rock into mainstream and then transitioned to a more hard rock 'n roll style. I like both of their sounds.
COTiger
The Eagles are my all time favorite group. I had the pleasure of seeing them perform outdoors many, many years ago.

Around the age of four, he went blind due to horrific physical abuse from his mother's then-boyfriend. A.J. was hospitalized for half a year and was totally blind in both eyes for six years. It was during this time that he started playing piano, inspired by blind pianists like Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder. He eventually regained the vision in his left eye. Hatchertiger
Had no idea. What a terrible thing for any human being to have to experience. I's like to spit some Beechnut in that dude's eye and shoot him with old 45 ... to coin a phrase
Herb
This past weekend, I finally finished up my vinyl storage project in the newly refinished basement. Each drawer has 21 inches of capacity (there are 6 for vinyl records and 12 for CDs). I went full overkill on the drawer slides with each one having 150 lbs of capacity. Happy to finally have the records and CDs out of boxes. It was also the 1st time in our 25 year marriage that our respective record collections were officially merged.
