  • John Emery out for season-no reason given
  • Cam Wire out for CMU game, Hines and maybe Deculus back
  • Armoni Goodwin likely out for CMU, nothing serious (I heard mild sprain and they wanna rest him for SEC play)
Thinks Tre Bradford will be available
  • Max is starter-no joke-but they liked the spark from Nuss.  Will try to get him in against CMU
  • Cutting back the check with me-it's allowing defense to adjust too easily
  • Chris Hilton is questionable-hasn't played yet
  • Sage Ryan is probably-hasn't played yet but is practicing starting today
  • Praised Cade York, praised Cam Lewis, Maason Smith, J Roy

Goodwin limped off after his first carry.

not real gingerly, pretty quick almost like hopping type.

but he did get another carry later.

This was on Dandy Don today, may not be on Emery, may be on LSU compliance.

My Response: According to Charles Hanagriff on his postgame show, Emery took an intercession class that he was told he needed and passed it. He did all that was asked of him. However, the NCAA flagged the class and said that it wouldn’t apply, so he was pulled right before the UCLA game. If accurate, this sure sounds like LSU’s compliance department and academic counselors dropped the ball big time.

Time for an appeal???

It's on Emery.  The fact he had to depend on a summer class to be eligible makes it on him.

These guys have resources at their disposal nobody else has and they screw around to the point they need a summer class to be eligible? On him.

first and foremost, i agree. it should have never come to that.

HOWEVER, is there not somebody at LSU whose only job in life is to make sure every single eligibility requirement is met by these guys?

Probably LSU

Perhaps, just perhaps...he got caught cheating and a GOOD thing about O is sometimes his lies are to protect players. Like Gilbert was "homesick". 😉

i have no inside info.

but Emery appealing leads me to believe it is something that may have at least some “leeway” somewhere.

He's had a rough year.  Injured late last season requiring surgery, dad had Covid and was in hospital/ICU for a while, grandmother passed away.

Bottom line, he got behind and had to take summer intercession class(es?) to get eligible.

The thing that sticks out is, something came out very late to the coaches because he was out there practicing when he wasn't injured and was expected to be a starter, then right before UCLA, he's out.

IDK

This is from a post on another forum & reflects his views on the state of the LSU football program. Unfortunately, I agree with his analysis:

Opt outs
Poor Culture
Players getting kicked off the team
Players transferring
Players ineligible
Lack of player motivation
Lack of player preparation
Poor coaching hires
Head coaches off the field antics
Poor talent evaluation
Poor player development
Poor on the field coaching and adjustments
Title 9
