“LSU went in the tank the last couple of years,” he said. “Sometimes you see on sinking teams that players kind of give up too and save themselves for the NFL. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what happened with Stingley. I think he’s going to be really good in our league.”

I have no idea if Stingley quit on us. But I wouldn’t want a player who quit on his team on mine.

Sting did have a broken bone in his foot, Lisfranc injury, and he had surgery.  I don't see how that is quitting.

Georgia had 5 players off their natty defense taken in the first round, and next year they are expected to have 2 more off that defense go in the first round.  Wow, 7 first rounders on one defense, that's crazy.  Do that and you can beat Gumps.  Gotta tip the hat to Kirby Smart, good recruiting.  Gumps and Ga. are near the top every year, with Ohio St. and Clemson in the mix.  Now A$M has jumped into the mix.

Ed Ingram went in 2nd round to the Vikings. He will be with Jefferson

That's high for Ed, good for him.  I was reading 3rd or 4th round for him.  Report said he needed to work on his pass blocking.  Someone must have watched the UCLA game!  (man, I am not sure when I will be able to get that game out of my head!)

Minnesota Vikings draft former LSU guard Ed Ingram at No. 59

Kyle Richardson

April 29, 2022 8:32 pm CT

With the 59th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings selected LSU guard Ed Ingram. He was a projected third-rounder by most mock drafts, but the Vikings pulled the trigger on him in the second round to try and get some protection for their quarterback, Kurt Cousins.

Ingram was a four-year starter on the offensive line for the Tigers. He appeared in 45 games, starting 34 times. His starts came at left guard (22) and right guard (12). He was named second-team All-SEC by the SEC Coaches in 2021 and invited to participate in the Senior Bowl.

Ingram graduated from LSU in May of 2021 with a degree in sports administration. Last season, he played and started 11 games, all at left guard as he logged 811 offensive snaps and played every offensive snap in the final nine games in which he appeared.

New York Giants select LSU cornerback Cordale Flott in 2022 NFL Draft

Derek Stingley Jr. got most of the attention in 2021, but Cordale Flottstill turned in a solid season. He’s now joining Stingley in the NFL.

The New York Giants selected Flott in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He started alongside Stingley all year for the Tigers and made quite an impact for them the last two seasons.

In his last two seasons at LSU, Flott totaled 83 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and an interception across 21 games during that time. His best year in Baton Rouge came in 2020 when he had 40 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss and, although the numbers dipped in 2021, he still proved to be an impact cornerback.

San Francisco 49ers select Ty Davis-Price with pick No. 93 in 2022 NFL draft

With the 93rd pick of the 2022 NFL draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected Ty Davis-Price to be their running back of the future. Davis-Price was one of the top running backs in the SEC as a junior in 2021.

He capped a three-year career with 1,744 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns and had his best season as a junior with 1,003 yards and 6 touchdowns. He appeared in 36 games with 16 starts with a career average of 4.6 yards per carry and he set the LSU single-game rushing record with 287 yards in a win over the Florida Gayturds.

From the Bayou to the Bay Area, the 49ers are getting a great running back in Tyrion Davis-Price. He’ll have to contend with a talented running back in Elijah Mitchell, but he will likely replace Raheem Mostert as the No. 2 back.

Three More Players Selected on Second Day of NFL Draft

BATON ROUGE – LSU added three more NFL Draft picks on Friday as offensive lineman Ed Ingram, running back Ty Davis-Price and cornerback Cordale Flott were all selected on day two of the draft.

Ingram was the first Tiger off the board on Friday, going in the second round with the 59th overall pick to the Minnesota Vikings. Ingram, a three-year starter for the Tigers, becomes the highest-drafted offensive lineman for LSU since center Ethan Pocic was drafted No. 58 overall by the Seahawks in 2017.

Flott was the next Tiger off the board, going in the third round with the 81st selection to the New York Giants. Flott is the second LSU defensive back selected in this year’s draft, joining Derek Stingley Jr., who was taken No. 3 overall by the Houston Texans.

It’s the third consecutive year that LSU has had at least two defensive backs picked in the NFL Draft.

Running back Ty Davis-Price followed at No. 93 overall to the San Francisco 49ers. Davis rushed for 1,003 yards and six TDs as a junior in 2021. His best game as a Tigers came in the win over Florida in 2021 when he set the LSU record with 287 yards and three TDs in the victory over the Gayturds.

LSU has now had four players selected through the first three rounds of the NFL Draft.

The NFL Draft concludes on Saturday with rounds 4-7 taking place.

Former LSU defensive tackle Glen Logan makes undrafted free agency decision

Chandler Vesselsabout 1 hour
former-lsu-defensive-tackle-glen-logan-makes-undrafted-free-agency-decision-cleveland-browns

LSU defensive Glen Logan has signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent, according to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero. Logan is one of the only five-letterwinners Tigers history after spending the past six season in Baton Rouge.

Now, the 6-foot-5, 303 pound Louisiana native will look to make an impact at the next level.

Logan missed six games this past season due to a foot injury, but still managed to record 10 tackles and a sack. By far his best year with the team came in 2018, when he finished with a career high 45 tackles to go along with four sacks. He is best known as a run-stopper, and will hope to bring that energy to a Browns team that finished last year with an 8-9 record.

NFL Draft picks by college 2022: Georgia sets new record; LSU, Cincinnati top Alabama; Texas gets shut out

Georgia's unforgettable season had a nice finishing touch.

Georgia set a record with 15 players selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, including five defensive players in the first round. Jacksonville selected Travon Walker with the No. 1 pick in the draft.

The Bulldogs won the national championship this season, the program's first since 1980.

Cincinnati had nine players selected in the draft after a remarkable season in which they became the first Group of 5 school to reach the College Football Playoff. All-American cornerback Ahmad Gardner, who was selected with the No. 4 pick by the New York Jets, led that group.

LSU also had 10 players selected in the NFL Draft. The Tigers were led by cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., who was selected by the Houston Texans. Penn State had eight players selected in the NFL Draft.

Alabama tackle Evan Neal (No. 7) and Jameson Williams (No. 12) were first-round picks for the Menstrual Wave, which finished with seven picks in this year’s draft. The Menstrual Wave tied for the most picks in 2021 with 10 and have a loaded class coming in 2023. Oklahoma also had seven players drafted.

Just a note:

The Texas Longhorns Had Zero Players Drafted in 2022 NFL Draft

The Texas Longhorns were shut out in 2022 NFL Draft picks.

There were 262 players selected between Thursday night and Saturday, and once Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy was taken by the 49ers with the last pick of the 7th round, also known as Mr. Irrelevant, that made it official that the Longhorns would have zero players drafted for the first time since the 2014 NFL Draft.

It’s not exactly a shocker, as Texas is coming off a 5-7 season under first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian. But regardless, it’s still a program that has consistently ranked in the Top 10 to 15 in the country in recruiting classes, year in and year out. To not have a single player drafted is in many ways an indictment on former head coach Tom Herman and Sarkisian’s lack of development in recent seasons.

Exactly.

But he took selfies in bed with women young enough to be his daughter and tried hitting on the pregnant wife of a university official.

(And sports writers still knock the Kelly hire.)
