Coach Kelly’s First Camp At LSU

I'm still dumbstruck by how the media treats LSU and USC's coaching hires so differently. Here the author says that Kelly's decision to take the job at LSU shocked the coaching world because "coaches just don't leave blue blood programs".

What is Oklahoma? Riley leaving Oklahoma for USC is somehow a step up instead of a lateral move or a step down.

The clear implication is that the LSU job is inferior to the Notre Dame job. (Go screw yourself, CBS Sports.)

LSU has won 3 National Championships this century. Notre Dame has won zero. In fact Notre Dame's last National Championship in football was 15 years before LSU won its 1st one this century...chew on that for a while. (Oklahoma's last NC was 12 years after ND's most recent NC.)

Kelly is a pariah for taking a job where the last 3 coaches have all won national championships but Riley is brilliant for taking a job where none of the last 4 head coaches came anywhere near sniffing a national championship (that does not count interim head coaches).
