I think Woody was actually the one that extended Orgeron.

He did and then he fired him.

“Coach O has set a new standard at LSU,” said LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward. “He has proven that he is not only a championship coach, but also a leader of a program committed to doing things the right way. He has represented our institution and our state with great pride, on and off the field of play. He is well-deserving of this new contract, which should make clear our commitment to Coach O and the direction of our football program.”

And at the time, after the 2019 season nobody blinked.  Had he maintained the same focus and dedication to LSU football he might still be our coach. However his personal life with photos of him surfacing on the internet becoming very public and the team taking a nose dive, it was only a matter of time.  He had his 15 minutes and is content with that ... and $17M of our money.

Correct, after the 2019 season, no one blinked. But things went downhill from there. Rather quickly. Like I said, off the field can get you as much as on. I’ve said the same thing about players.

i know one person that was against it

I didn't say anything one way at the time, it was Scott's call.  However, I probably thought it was excessive award for one great season.  Ed certainly deserved a raise and an extension.  If he was making 5 give him a raise to 6 and extend him for 2 years.  Did anyone think someone was going to swoop in and steal Ed for a 7 year, 7 mil a year contract, fully guaranteed?  I didn't think that would happen.

Alabama specialist Jack Martin is going to explore his transfer options moving forward in his college career.

The Menstrual Wave backup kicker/punter took to Twitter on Monday to reveal his decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Martin said he’ll receive his Bachelor’s degree in finance at the end of the first semester of this year.

Amid speculation of Auburn attempting to poach Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss has reportedly offered its head coach a new contract.

According to Richard Cross of SporsTalk Mississippi, the Rebels have presented Kiffin with a deal that'd make him one of college football's 10 highest-paid coaches.

Many observers noted the vagueness of that description. Per Brandon Marcello of 247Sports, Kiffin is $300,000 away from reaching that status.

Baylor played TCU today.  Baylor up by 2 pts. with a couple of minutes to go, run, run, run, did not make a first down.  TCU had 3 timeouts, called TO after each run, TCU took over with 90 seconds, drove down the field, kicked a FG with no time left.

I was pulling for Baylor to knock them off and eliminate an unbeaten team from the playoff picture.  Of course LSU has to win out, and going through Ga. won't be easy.

But, TCU pulled it out.

Florida lost to Vandy up in Nashville.  First time Vandy beat Fla. at home since 1988, Vandy gave coach a gatorade bath.

Gamecocks embarrass Tennessee. Billy Bob lost to Vandy. And in typical OM fashion they fail down the stretch and lose their third to Arky.  Lane needs to quit playing around so much on Twitter and coach his team more.

Thought that UCLA might pull it off and beat USC but it didn't happen. USC now plays ND.  We'll find out if ND is for real. Baylor should have beaten TCU.

Jimbo Fisher signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country last season. Adding those guys along with the talent he already had, and some experts predicted Texas A&M may make the college football playoffs for the first time ever.

Unfortunately for Fisher, that isn’t how the cookie crumbled. This has been a rough year for the Aggies as they currently are 4-7 overall and currently have the worst record in conference play of any SEC team at 1-6.

A team that some expected to win the league is now ranked behind Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Auburn. Brian Kelly said that Texas A&M will be one of the most talented teams LSU has seen this season, but it has been limited by its youth.

The Tigers will take on the Aggies Saturday night in College Station, Texas. Even though they are 4-7, LSU can’t overlook A&M and look ahead to Georgia because Jimbo can ruin the Tigers’ playoff hopes.
