Seriously, regarding NIL and transfers...

Simple way to deal with it is make em have to sit a year again. Will it cure all? No.  But sophomores will think twice for sure and juniors almost certainly will unless it's their only shot at PT.

You wanna go to an FCS school, fine. But FBS to FBS? One year penalty.

If you say so. Brings me back to why? He didn't do anything to warrant a deal, he isn't Perkins.  Anyhow, good for Auburn I guess, now we get to make them regret it.

how else do you get someone to go to Auburn?

they been buying kids for generations.

Point was if they are going to pay someone then at least get a kid that is proven. Tolan hasn't done crap yet. Sure, potential is there but that reminds me a little Johnny joke.

how is that any different than paying NIL for a high school recruit?

The Additions

CB Darian “Duce” Chestnut - Sophomore - Syracuse

CB Zy Alexander – Junior – Southeastern Louisiana

CB Denver Harris – Sophomore – Texas A&M

WR Aaron Anderson – Redshirt Freshman – Alabama

EDGE Bradyn Swinson – Junior – Oregon

DL Paris Shand – Junior – Arizona

DT Jalen Lee – Junior – Florida

DT Jordan Jefferson – Senior – West Virginia

Aaron Anderson, the singular player this program has brought in on offense, provides the Tigers with a player who can add a different dimension to this squad. With the departure of Kayshon Boutte and Jaray Jenkins, this receiving corps needed a boost. Insert Anderson. Along with his contributions on offense, Anderson will be a huge piece to special teams. A gifted return specialist, the New Orleans native looks to fill that role almost instantly.

The Departurea

DeMario Tolan - Linebacker - Transferring to Auburn

Jack Bech - Wide Receiver - Transferring to TCU

Cam Wire - Offensive Lineman - Transferring to Tulane

Kole Taylor - Tight End - Transferring to West Virginia

Marcus Dumervil - Offensive Line - Transferring to Maryland

Xavier Hill - Offensive Line - Transferring to Memphis

Raydarious Jones - Cornerback - Transferring to Mississippi State

Antoine Sampah - Linebacker - Transferring to Campbell

Desmond Little - EDGE - Remains in NCAA Transfer Portal

Philip Webb - EDGE - Remains in NCAA Transfer Portal

Kolbe Fields - Linebacker - Remains in NCAA Transfer Portal

Derrick Davis Jr. - Safety/Running Back - Remains in NCAA Transfer Portal

Jaelyn Davis-Robinson - Cornerback - Remains in NCAA Transfer Portal

Damarius McGhee - Cornerback - Remains in NCAA Transfer Portal

LSU has received a commitment from transfer defensive lineman Ovie Oghoufo. The 6-foot-3, 239-pound Oghoufo comes from Texas but also signed with Notre Dame out of high school when Brian Kelly was the head coach and played at Notre Dame for two seasons.

I'm guessing he'll play OLB and occasional tweener DE.

As much as we hate to lose our kids through the portal, especially the frosh LB Tolan, most of our kids that entered the portal were not playing, may never play.

With the players we are signing out of the portal, it seems to me we may be strengthening the roster.

I assume Polian and his staff are good, identify really good kids, and LSU can afford to be picky about who they accept.

Last year, clearly we upgraded the roster through the portal.

What about this year, have we upgraded the roster through the portal again?

We will lose a few more after Spring, some will not like their position as to backup. Kelly is also doing a cleaning. He and the staff know where they want to be. Much like when he came in, some kids are not the right fit. The Spring will find out who wants to be here, who has the same vision.

Every stop Kelly has had to do this, he’s good at what he does.
