More expansion???

Just caught the middle of something on the radio and it sounds as if FSU and Clemson aren't happy. Sounded like they were trying the same end around that OU and Tx just did and that the SEC is the target landing spot. Greed of course will always win out but man at what point does this end? Probably when we are left with three mega conferences is what it is looking like.

Thoughts?

I say worse but that is just my .02, if you have all the punchers in the same damn conference then the SECCG becomes your NCG. I don't like it.

In a few years, the SEC will consist of about 64 teams, and there will be no other major conferences.

I think the Big 10 survives.  They form up like the AFC and NFC, North vs. the South.  Crown champions of the north and south, meeting in the Super Bowl of college football.  Copy what has been proven to generate a lot of interest (and viewers).

or you can keep the model that continuously fills larger stadiums than the NFL could ever dream of consistently filling.
(Note: the biggest NFL stadium, which doesn't even average 100% capacity, barely squeaks in at #10 in College football. And that's with the average NFL team being in larger metro areas than most NCAA teams)

and while the NFL's TV deal is amazing for the NFL, it absolutely sucks for the fans.

College football gives an ungodly amount of choices in which game you want to watch.
there is sometimes a half dozen at a time in time slots beginning at 11:00am and sometimes not ending until after midnight across many networks.
and that's without having to pay for any extra packages.
CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, Big Ten Network, ACC Network, CBS Sports, FoxSports1, etc., etc. etc.

the NFL on the other hand has only 3 time slots.
and whichever time slot your local market team is playing in, you get ONE game available to you (without paying the NFL more money).
If you don't have a local Market team then in one of those time slots, you still only get ONE game. and it's the game they chose for you as their "game of the week"
but hey, in the other daytime time slot, you get TWO whole games. and you only get to choose between the two they offer you.

Not sure if it's still the case but the NFL TV stuff used to be "regional coverage" here in OKC we get the faggy cowboys from the NFC and KC from the AFC.

We cant get the Saints in TX unless they are playing a TX team or the Commanders or NY teams - its weird

and yet a shyte ton of "fans" think the NFL should be used as beacon of how to set up the NCAA.

but if you really sit back and think about it, nothing the NFL does is better for the fans than the way college football does it.

But I think it'll always be at least one less than the B65G!
