houtiger
LSU is in the Albany Regional, got the #3 seed and will face 14 see Rice in the first round. Iowa is the 1 seed in this regional, UCLA is #2, and Kansas St. is #4 seed. "In women's basketball, the top-four seeds from each region host the first two rounds of the March Madness Tournament. Since LSU is the three seed, they will host 14 seeded Rice, 11 seeded Middle Tennessee and 6 seeded Louisville this weekend. Their first matchup will be against Rice. If they win, they will advance to face off with the winner of the Louisville vs Middle Tennessee game. If the Tigers are able to make it out of the first two rounds, they will then travel to Albany for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight before a potential trip to Cleveland for the Final Four and National Championship." I wonder if HVL will face her former team?

LSUDad
How it went down in the PMAC.
houtiger
LSU plays Rice in BR at 3 PM Friday. The ladies game has gotten so much more interesting the last few years. There is so much more talent. There are more good teams. In the early years of WBB, there were one or two great players on the top teams and the rest were just support. Now for the top teams, you have to have at least 2 great players and another 5 or 6 very good players. The depth is much better. S. Caroline averaged about 30 points out of their bench in the SEC tourney.
houtiger
The Lady Tigers won today over Rice, played in the PMAC. Final, 70 - 60. It was not a good game for the Tigers, 24 turnovers, Kim was not a happy camper. She did an interview on ESPN right after the game, said it was a bad game. She thought some of the players played selfish basketball, ouch! Angel Reese was only one for seven from the field, but she pulled 19 rebounds and got 10 points. Rice came to play, and they only lose one player off their team for next year.
houtiger
The starting five for LSU are all good players. Reese impressed me with 19 rebounds, that lady works hard. But the lady that keeps catching my eye is Flau'jae Johnson. Her skills are varied. She can hit the 3, she can hit midrange jumpers, and she can drive the lane and slash to the basket. She has the most impressive layups on the team. She can get a steal, good dribbler. I think she's complete, and she's a sophomore.

houtiger
LSU knocks off Middle Tenn. 83-56, but it was not as easy as the score would indicate. LSU trailed in the third quarter. Middle Tenn. starters were even with LSU, but they had no bench spark. Angel Reese was being fouled from the beginning of the game, and after several MTSU starters got their third foul, and eventually fouled out, it turned into an LSU rout. It did look like LSU found some cohesion that they lacked in the previous game. Flaujae was her usual complete self.
houtiger
LSU faces UCLA in Albany, Saturday at noon (CT), in the Sweet Sixteen. UCLA beat Creighton. The winner of the LSU game faces the winner between Iowa and Colorado (Colorado beat LSU early in this season). Televised on ABC.
houtiger
Tigers defeat UCLA 78 - 69, in a great game, gritty performance. UCLA had a 6' 7" center who was agile. Angel played with her last summer on the USA national team. Angel got her double double, but Flaujae was the star. Flaujae did everything you can do, scored 23 pts., hit a couple of 3's, had steals, drove to the basket, rebounded and played defense. HVL has an off day, very little scoring.

houtiger
Iowa beat Colorado, so it is LSU vs. Iowa, again. Iowa vs. LSU will tip off at 6 p.m. CT Monday at MVP Arena in Albany, N.Y. I am sure they were placed in the same regional because there will be high interest in a rematch of last year's championship game. Angel Reese vs. Catlin Clark. houtiger
This is just an amazing thing I heard about U Conn WBB, who won yesterday. Of course they have been a power in WBB for years, with the same guy as head coach. They have had 5 players go down for the season this year! They dressed 8 players yesterday, and 6 played, and they won. That's amazing.

houtiger
LSU loses to Iowa 94 - 87. Tied at halftime, Iowa blew it open in the third quarter. Caitlin Clark ends the game with 41 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds to lead Iowa. 27 of Caitlin's points came on nine 3 pointers. LSU shooters went cold in the third quarter.
