The War Pigeons of the Barn Klan are highly touted and will enjoy the world's greatest home field advantage. Sure, Death Valley at night is where opponents dreams come to die, but Jourdan Hare is where phantom calls and obvious no calls tend to dictate the outcome of games. LSU leads the series against these paper Tigers 29-22-1 all time, and the home team has won 16-18 matchups since Wingnut thought it would be a good idea to light up on Tiger Stadium turf back in 1999. The two times the home team didn't win, it was LSU @ AU. That said, a few years ago, an AU team that went winless in the SEC lost to a pretty stinking good LSU team 12-10 at Jordan Hare. Last time we played there, an LSU team struggling to get going early in the season and with a coaching staff in turmoil came within a second of beating AU in Jordan Hare. And you know AU has to be up for this one after losing a comfy 20 pt lead last year for their only SEC loss prior to the SECCG. Who knows, maybe a barn will burn or something. Maybe the earth will quake. You simply never know in this one! Stidham is legit, but so is the front 7 he'll be facing. On the other hand, Brossette is the real deal, but can our OL hold THEIR front 7 at bay? I'd say we have the edge at kicker with Kick Tracy perfect on the year and showing he can nail em from distance, but then again, their new kicker is another damn Carson. Did they clone that guy?? I KNOW he graduated! Hopefully little bro isn't as deadly as his predecessor. I'll be honest. I am concerned about this one and have been even before I saw either team play this season. If you told me prior to the season LSU is going 11-1, I would have picked this as the "1". It's a tough place to play as a visiting Tiger. However... I DO believe LSU is going to bring it this weekend. SLU gave the staff a lot of things to work on, and I have no doubt there was some "looking ahead" going on. But the team should be focused as much as they were against Miami to start the season, and I expect a close game. It may very well come down to a kicker, and at least we know with ours, we have a legit chance. As always, no matter what... GEAUX!!!!!!!!!! This intensified when Tubberdick was their coach...glad he is nothing but a footnote at this point. LSU has a stout defense and I think Stidham does not enjoy the kind of games he did against Washington and whatever Alabama high school they played. Hopefully the "Greedy Kristians" keep Stidham disappointed all afternoon. Offensively, we need to keep a mindset of "one first down at a time" and if we can translate that into real execution, we should all be happy drunks earlier in the day than we ordinarily like on Saturdays. It'll be interesting to see how the OL adjustments work and with any luck, will translate into better running lanes and an extra 1.5-2 seconds for Burrow. Our running game needs to step it up. OL did good overall in pass protection but we lack road graders that can open up lanes for the running game. But... We beat Auburn in their house!!!!
