LSU quarterback Joe Burrow will take a break from his summer workout regimen with the Tigers to get some work in with some NFL greats, along with some of the top quarterbacks on the college landscape.

The senior signal caller is slated to work the Manning Passing Academy, serving as a camp counselor for the 1,000-plus middle school to high school quarterbacks in attendance on the Nicholls State campus in in Thibodaux, La.

The Manning Passing Academy, owned and operated by Archie Manning and sons Peyton, Cooper and Eli, will be held June 27-30.

During the day, the counselors work with the young quarterbacks. After the afternoon session, the college guys work with the Manning’s and other coaches and players in attendance on film study as well as passing mechanics.

The Manning Passing Academy decribest it's purpose on their website, saying:

To create an environment of greater understanding of, and the proficiency with, the fundamentals, techniques, skills, motivation and sportsmanship necessary for success at the individual offensive skill positions in the sport of football, while expanding the overall knowledge and strategy of offensive play and defensive coverage.

For almost four decades the Manning family and the quarterback position have been practically synonymous with one another. As such, their summer vacations always revolve around the annual Manning Passing Academy…a family-owned and managed football camp that embraces the basic fundamentals of football while catering to the offensive skill positions of RB, TE, WR…and of course QB.

In his first year with the Tigers, Burrow started all 13 games and led LSU to a 10-3 record and No. 6 ranking in the final AP Top 25 Poll. He became the first player in LSU history to throw for 2,500 yards and rush for at least 350 yards in a season.

Burrow won the job in fall camp and completed 219-of-379 passes for 2,894 yards with 16 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He made plenty of plays with his feet, adding another 399 rushing yards and seven scores on 128 carries.

Burrow will join Trevor Lawrence(Clemson), Jake Fromm (Georgia), Jarret Guarantano (Tennessee), Jake Bentley(South Carolina), KJ Costello (Stanford), Ian Book (Notre Dame), Justin Herbert(Oregon), Rhett Rodriguez (Arizona), Nate Stanley (Iowa), Tommy Stevens (Penn State), Brady Davis (Illinois State), Jarrett Doege (Bowling Green), Ben Hicks(Arkansas), Jordan Love (Utah State), J.T. Daniels (Southern Cal), Jack Abraham(Southern Miss), Matt Corral (Ole Piss) and others.

NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt, a former Dallas Cowboy front office executive, posted on twitter about the Academy and it's status as an elite place for quarterbacks that attracts well over 1,000 young signal callers, in addition to the college counselors.

The Manning Passing Academy starts Thursday. Started humbly at Tulane 24 years ago!!! and has grown into a huge event at Nicholls St. Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert are among the CFB QBs serving as camp counselors. Archie Manning told me 52 QBs currently in NFL have attended.

LSU QB Joe Burrow has been impressive throwing the ball @mpa_info and he got high praise from Archie Manning. “Joe (Burrow) has made great improvement. He has excellent ball placement, he has a quick delivery and he can make all the throws. Really impressive young man.”
