LSU's start to the 2019 season has taken the nation by storm, and the field general for the new-look offense has done the same.

Starting quarterback Joe Burrow’s showing against Georgia Southern in week one turned heads out of the gates, with the senior passing for 278 yards and an LSU single-game record five touchdowns on 23-of-27 attempts. His five touchdowns all came in the first half, and he then handed the ball over to backup Myles Brennan in a 55-3 win.

Then came a road trip to Texas, with the Longhorns bringing a Top 10 team to the field following a Sugar Bowl win to close out the 2018 season.

Once again, Burrow was lights out.

He finished the game 31-of-39 passing for 471 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, including the game-winning 61-yard touchdown pass on 3rd-and-17 in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

The Tigers took home the 45-38 victory, and Burrow took home the Southeastern Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time in two weeks.

On Monday, Burrow’s Heisman Trophy odds skyrocketed, going from 200-1 odds this offseason all the way up to 5-1 odds to win the award. Now, he’s projected by CBS Sports as not only an NFL draft selection - but a first-rounder.

CBSSports analyst Chris Trapasso updated his weekly NFL Draft Big Board this week, and Burrow went from off the radar to the third quarterback off the board.

“How about Joe Burrow? The LSU quarterback pieced together a masterful effort in the Tigers' monster win over Texas in Austin,” he said. “He demonstrated serious NFL-caliber throws to all portions of the field and was outstanding in managing the pocket.

“Because it's early, and because quarterbacks with a skill set like Burrow's tend to come off the board early, let's throw him in the first round.”

Trapasso had Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoagoing No. 1 overall to the Miami Dolphins and Oregon’s Justin Herbert going No. 6 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Then he slotted in Burrow at No. 24 overall to the Los Angeles Chargers.

“Hey, Burrow in Round 1! Why not?,” he said. “He was tremendous in a gigantic win over Texas in Austin. His performance definitely warrants him being put on the draft radar.”

After two weeks of the 2019 season, Burrow leads the SEC in completion percentage, passing yards, passing yards per attempt, passing yards per game, passing touchdowns and quarterback rating.

And he wasn’t the lone LSU player to crack the first round projections.

LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton landed at No. 13 overall to the Carolina Panthers as the No. 2 cornerback prospect off the board, while Grant Delpit came off the board next at No. 14 overall to the San Francisco 49ers. Delpit’s ranked as the No. 1 draft-eligible safety in the 2020 draft class.

LSU returns to the field on Saturday to take on Northwestern State in Tiger Stadium

you know, another board commented during the game that the scene looked sepia colored and that clip really showed it.  Was their grass colored orange or something?  Actually I think they have artificial turf but still, it looks like film from the 80s compared to the other clips
