Fishhead Posted October 26, 2019 Share Posted October 26, 2019 It's LSU vs AU, so who knows what's gonna go down? With that said, my rational (IMO) opinion of this game bodes well for LSU. Obviously, we're elite passing the football, particularly over the middle. That's AUs defensive weakness. Their defensive strength is no doubt the DL getting pressure. Joe gets the ball out quickly and is #1 in the country completing passes under pressure. When their O is on the field, especially with Boobie Williams likely returning for them, they're going to try to establish the run. That's Gus' MO. But they aren't really great at it. Having Boobie back certainly helps. But......... Our defense is top 10 against the rush. Our defensive weakness is the passing game across the middle, which is something freshman QBs facing SEC defenses don't do. If it comes down to a kick to win, they definitely have an advantage with yet another Carlson. I don't think it comes to that though. LSU FANS may be all about November 9th and the Gump game, but I am VERY confident the team and coaching staff is focused 100% on the Auburn Tigers. Let's do this!!!!!!!! OUR D played their asses off. Defense had good numbers, but man, we just couldn't punch it in as much as we have been. But the D played well outside of the one big run play.
