houtiger
We know that Coach O was emotional after the win, that's understandable. But what makes it more emotional for him (just my opinion) is how many people in La. were against the hire. They wanted Jimbo, or Herman, but NOT O. O was not good enough. He wasn't as smart as Saban, he was neither an offensive nor defensive coordinator in his own right. He failed at Ole Piss. The feeling of happiness for his team was apparent. His feeling of personal vindication, not so much, but it has to be there. To work and build and achieve something that so many thought he could not do, that will prompt and emotional release. Today for the first time ever, I listened to most of the Paul Finebaum show and Paul said he did not think O was a good hire for LSU at the time. Pat Forde came on and he agreed with Paul that he (Forde) did not think O was a good hire. Greg McElroy said he did not think O was a good hire. Finebaum said all the sportscasters he spoke to privately thought LSU was making a mistake. Finebaum, Forde and McElroy all said today that O proved them wrong, O looks like exactly what LSU needed. A guy who wrote a book on college recruiting spent 2 years off and on with O at Ole Piss, and Finebaum asked him what people don't get right about O. He said when they hear his accent and gravel voice, they think he is not smart. Guy said O is smart, he is an excellent people person, and he is very organized. He said while many coaches are stubborn by nature, and so is O, but O learned that his stubbornness could be his enemy. O now asks, all the time, how can we get better? And he is not too stubborn to try something new. They all commented how the team plays hard for O. The players like him. His coaching staff seems to work well together. Coach O, enjoy your moment, but just for 24 hours, then get to work on beating Ole Piss!

Hatchertiger
Haven't watched it all but this is a great breakdown of what was going on in the game. Conclusion is that LSU won the game in the first half by overwhelming Alabama and capitalizing on 2 turnovers.
