LSUDad
Great day was had by one and all. A number of Former Tigers, Pro Players showed up to help in this worthy cause. Good to see so many players, the stories and getting together, folks giving back. Too many to name, don’t want to leave anyone out. But very supportive men and women made this day a success. Billy is a GREAT GUY! Used to keep me & hubs stocked in General Marine Seasonings & Mixes (i.e. jambalaya, red beans, etc) along with just a few bottles of wine. He also sponsored our Saddle/Riding Club Horse Shows in Slidell when my kids were in elementary school.

LSUDad
When you start a Tournament with a gun salute and Taps, you know it’s another worthy cause.

LSUDad
While tailgating Saturday before the UGA game, my relatives and I were talking, he was doing a Tournament that Monday for Wounded Warriors and Patriots. How could I say no. To get across the Mississippi River, due to the Sunshine Bridge being out, the Plaquemine Ferry came into play. Gun Salute The Bugler playing Taps, tells me it was a worthy cause.
Herb
I always love taking a ferry across the river. Sad to see so many going away or gone in the river parishes.

Yep Herb, but two have been used in Plaquemine. I gave a text to the Lt. Gov. Of La. Billy Nungesser, about the problem with the Sunshine Bridge being out, within minutes, he called me back. He said that he was making calls. Talking with my cousin the other day, they have added a third ferry to the Plaquemine crossing. My thanks to the Lt Gov. please remember him on voting days. Herb
This is a great cause and a great event. It makes me happy that you're involved in this, @LSUDad. When I was a kid, I used to participate in a Cystic Fibrosis "Bike-A-Thon" fundraiser where I'd ask people to pledge a monetary amount for every mile I rode on a route in City Park in New Orleans. Sometimes I had trouble collecting because people didn't expect that I'd log over 50 miles and it was more than the $5 or $10 they envisioned.

I’ve worked golf and tennis tournaments for Cystic Fibrosis, golf tournaments for First Responders and Folds of Honor. I also work one up in North Georgia for KBG. To stay busy since retirement I’ve worked with Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and The Baton Rouge Food Bank. Last month I rebuilt a 12X20 foot deck for my Aunt and Uncle. Tore off the old deck, rebuilt the joist and redecked. I try to stay busy in my older days. Covid shut down Bert’s tournament, I keep checking, don’t know if we’ll ever start it back up.
