watson
Rough few days and this stick came in to settle down and relax. Nothing wrong with a Monty #2, Glenfiddich 15 and a Guinness to say, "<REDACTED> it!" And relax, it aint that bad. What sticks are you smoking? watson
PS. Today the Bolivians caught up with famous cigar smoker Che and executed him. So it could be worse. Edited October 9, 2018 by watson
Just Me
How did I miss this? Shame on me. I have been smoking several different things just to experiment. I have a particular fondness for Padron 1964. But I like to keep those for special. I recently had a monte a dear friend gave me and really enjoyed it. Something I really like and smoke a lot is the A Fuente Hemingway. In Rocky Patel, so far the only ones I truly enjoy are the Decade and the 1990. I found the Decade on sale and picked up a few. I have several different things in my humidor. Some I need to try, but keep holding off thinking they need to be for more celebratory type smokes. As far as pairings, of course, there is rootbeer. But I really enjoy the Abita Vanilla Cream Soda, or Virgil's Black Cherry Cream Soda. My rootbeer collection is growing and just like cigars, each has it's own unique flavor. I also found a ginger beer that is quite good with a stick.
Just Me
Am I the only one that thinks about a possible brewing civil war, or take over by a socialist regime, in Nicarauga, and wonder what it will do to the cigar production and industry there? Fuentes are Nicaraugan. I really don't want to see Nicaraugan cigars go the way of Cuban cigars.

I definitely had a Monday! Carry on.

The label looks familiar. 44 minutes ago, Herb said: Are we really allowed to talk about cigars during Auburn week???? I was not able to do so on their field, but in honor or Tubby, last year at Auburn, I went back to the parking lot, and lit up a cigar while traffic cleared out. It was as close a I could get, but still satisfying.

Sounds awful I got a Red Beans and Rice Beer from a little brewery just South of Jackson Barracks in New Orleans, wasn’t bad. Speaking of beer, a good friend of mine is opening up LeChien Brewing Company. Next trip to BTR, guess I need to have a beer with them. http://www.lechien.beer/ Edited January 9, 2020 by LSUDad
Just Me
back to cigars. padron 64 is still my favorite. however, i recently tried the CAO americana. definitely will be picking up a few more when i get some of the humidor collection smoked down. full but smooth, peppery and earthy. i was able to smoke it down much further than most and not get an acid burn taste from it. definitely a quality stick, imo.

Light to medium body, good burn, some cedar, not complex. I’d smoke again and will revisit as the one cigar I have left could use some more settling time after shipping.

cadillacattack
Not all outlets carry PDR brand, but check out the PDR Small Batch Reserve (Petite Robusto Maduro ) ... a surprising good smoke for the money. ( about $3 / stick on best cigar prices.com)
