watson
Mr. Jim Taylor was a great guy. I was aquainted with him thru attending the same church in Baton Rouge. I never knew he played football till I was almost out of highschool. Just sad news. https://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2018/10/13/packers-hall-fame-fullback-jim-taylor-dies-83/1629007002/

houtiger
I remember Taylor playing for the Packers. In those days, lots of rivalries between the players were personal, and if one guy got a shot on you, you went looking for him later in the game. One such rivalry was between Taylor and Sam Huff, MLB for the Giants. Dad said that when Taylor got the ball, if he had a choice between running to daylight or running over Huff, he would run over Huff. They battered each other, that's the way the game was played back then. Both tough dudes, I think they respected each other. Huff was listed at 6' 1" and 230, good sized for a MLB back in the day.
