I see his Dad Johnny all the time, they have a group that eats at City Cafe all the time. Johnny coaches up at Zachary High. Slade will also work Special Teams.

I thought it was officially announced yesterday (or so) that Hankton and Sloan were promoted to Co-OCs.

This announcement makes it appear that he's the new OC?  Maybe he's coming aboard as an analyst?

🤷‍♂️

Adam Schefter: Michigan could not offer Jim Harbaugh a Super Bowl

by:Barkley Truax•about 6 hours

Weeks after leading Michigan to a national championship, Jim Harbaugh is expected to be named the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who was the first to break the news, joined SportsCenter in the immediate aftermath after dropping the bombshell news. There, he broke down what led Harbaugh to his decision to return to the NFL after nearly a decade.

“Here’s the deal. Michigan had an offer on the table to make him the highest-paid coach in college football,” Schefter said on Wednesday. “And Michigan, though, could not offer him the chance to win a Super Bowl. And really, that’s ultimately it. He would have loved to have stayed at Michigan. Michigan would love to have had him.

What do Sherrone Moore and LSU Coach Brad Davis have in common?
Both are OL coaches that took over for the Head Coach. Both played OG At Oklahoma for Bob Stoops.

The Buffalo Bills announced on Sunday that they’ve officially promoted Joe Brady to offensive coordinator under head coach Sean McDermott for the 2024 season. Brady served as the team’s interim offensive coordinator, taking over play-calling for Ken Dorsey in mid-November.

With the former Panthers and LSUcoordinator operating the offense, the Bills closed the 2023 regular season with wins against the Cowboys, Chargers, Patriots and Dolphins. They got one more in the wild card round against the Steelers before falling to the Chiefs last week. The Bills went 11-6 during the regular season.

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen advocated for Brady to keep the offensive coordinator role after their loss in the division round. Allen finished the year with 4,306 passing yards, 29 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions. He also added 524 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.

The Advocate’s Wilson Alexander reported that Austin Thomas is returning to LSU as the football program’s senior associate athletic director. This marks the third time Thomas has worked at LSU.

Thomas first worked at LSU from 2013-2017. He was one of the first to be ever named a college football program’s general manager going into the 2016 season, and Thomas was a key role in assembling the roster that would go on to win the 2019 national championship.

Thomas left Baton Rouge for College Station and was Texas A&M’s associate athletic director for football personnel during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Thomas then spent 2020 with Baylor and was the senior associate athletic director.

In 2021 Thomas returned to LSU for a second time and was tasked with roster management and daily operations. He was not retained by Brian Kelly when Kelly was hired and has spent the past two years in Oxford as the football program’s chief of staff.

According to ESPN’s Chris Low, Auburn will hire DJ Durkin as the program’s next defensive coordinator. Durkin has a ton of experience in the SEC in multiple roles, spending the last two seasons at Texas A&M under former head coach Jimbo Fisher.

“Hugh Freeze is hiring DJ Durkin to be @AuburnFootball’s DC, sources tell ESPN,” Low said via X. “It will be Durkin’s fourth different stint as a DC in the SEC. He was at Texas A&M the past two seasons, Ole Miss the two seasons prior to that, and Florida in 2013-14.”

Auburn will be the fourth different SEC school Durkin has worked for. As mentioned, Texas A&M was one of them as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the last two seasons. He was replacing Mike Elkoafter his departure to Duke. Now coming full circle, Elko is back in College Station to replace Fisher.
