  1. Welcome, Mount McKinley!!
  2. And about 1800 of those will not actually transfer.
  3. History has never been a fan of indentured servitude. Instead of doom and gloom we need to look at unlimited transfers as an opportunity to learn how to become more adept. There will always be a nucleus of players that love LSU and want to spend their entire eligibility here. There will also always be 'highest bidder' players. We need to figure out how to attract and keep the players that are in between those camps.
  4. I wanted to take a minute to tell each and every one of you Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! I hope all of you have a safe and happy holiday season and I am looking forward to 2024 with all of you. And if you see that little short dude dressed in red, kick him in the ass (Saban, not Santa)!
  5. Interesting that they hired back an OC they fired several years ago. If it indeed becomes official, he'll be Tiger Bait even though I like Denbrock. Kelly will hire a more than adequate replacement. I'll still hold out hope that Woodward opens the checkbook.
  6. I could care less where the 2024 LSU recruiting class ends up in the meaningless rankings. What is far more important is that we added and solidified depth across the board. We added depth at almost every position with what appears to be a focus on the defense overall and OL with some key offensive positions as well (TE and WR come to mind). We're not finished, either. The staff is working to secure other recruits between now and February and we'll likely add some through the portal as well. (I noticed in his presser that Kelly specifically did not answer a question regarding players from the portal as he wanted the focus of the questions and answers to be limited to the incoming freshmen who signed.) Hopefully most of these players (if not all) will be early enrollees and will come in right away "drink the kool-aid" and start conditioning themselves to grow and strengthen their bodies and minds.

    2024 Signing Day!

Note the focus on LBs also.
  8. All I want for Xmas is a repeat!!!
  9. Hope he gets it and is able to put his troubles behind him.
  10. University of Maryland says 'hold my beer'. No, I didn't miss that part. Just stressing that this is NOT the result of any kind of bureaucratic regulations...this is all on the courts and the solution might actually need to be laws at the federal level that can withstand the whims of judges.
  11. But unlike a religious group it does not have enumerated rights under the constitution. The Ku Klux Klan is also a voluntary organization but it still has to operate under the laws of the US Government and cannot break laws that violate those laws (like bombing churches, conspiring to prevent people from voting, murdering African Americans, etc.). Religious organizations have specific freedoms outlined in the US Constitution that other voluntary organizations do not. Note that it is the current conservative makeup of the US Supreme Court that set all of this in motion. Ironically, this is a SCOTUS that by almost all measures makes rulings based on less government involvement, not more. Yet, it is this extremely conservative, anti-regulation minded court that has brought us here.
  12. Now if we could also replace Major Burns.
  13. Take a moment to stop and think about how in a span of about 6 years, LSU went from being a QB desert to having not one, but two Heisman Trophy winning QBs in short succession. Ten years ago if someone told any of us that LSU was about to have two Heisman winning QBs, I think all of us would have laughed, rolled our eyes, and said "Yeah, right!" Now, high school stars across the nation look at LSU in a completely different light.
  14. Laterrance Welch headed to Arizona State.
  15. You mean what do we do about our RB situation under Nuss?
  16. I laugh every time I see that reference.

    Lawsuit

Salacious testimony but they have yet to provide any proof beyond hearsay. Ultimately, I think this will play out in favor of LSU unless they have concrete supporting evidence such as eyewitness testimony, cell phone texts, etc.,. Having said that, if the allegations are indeed true I think Kelly is smart enough to move away from Wilson or we'll see Wilson retire after the lawsuit is over. There is no place in the workplace for women to be sexually harassed or sexually assaulted by anyone in power.
  18. Damn, Perkins didn't even make 3rd team?
  19. Pounds of wisdom here. Jamar Cain was lightning in a bottle and we lost him to Sean Payton's Broncos. We never got to see what Jimmy Lindsey could do (yet). I agree with FH regarding Steeples: great story but might need a few years below the Power 5 level to get forged into being an effective SEC level coach. Want to kill 3 birds with one stone? Think about hiring Jim Leonard as Defensive Backs Coach/Co-Defensive Coordinator.
  20. Every now and then we have to spot them one if for no other reason than to keep the highway signs at the border animated.
  21. Which proves he's intelligent enough to stay here.
  22. @dachsie, what we don't know is what the work ethic, practice habits, and academic attention that any highly rated recruit that 'decides to leave' LSU has shown. Wiggins, Welch, and others were highly rated prospects when they signed with LSU. For whatever reason, they did not crack the starting lineup while others in their incoming classes did. On a team like LSU, some players that are 2nd and 3rd string would be starters elsewhere. At LSU, those players might need to have the work ethic of a Jacob Hester to earn a starting job. To put it another way...Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Herb were all 4 star guitar prospects when were each 12 years old. Guess which one out of the three didn't put in the devotion and practice?
