@dachsie, what we don't know is what the work ethic, practice habits, and academic attention that any highly rated recruit that 'decides to leave' LSU has shown.
Wiggins, Welch, and others were highly rated prospects when they signed with LSU. For whatever reason, they did not crack the starting lineup while others in their incoming classes did.
On a team like LSU, some players that are 2nd and 3rd string would be starters elsewhere. At LSU, those players might need to have the work ethic of a Jacob Hester to earn a starting job.
To put it another way...Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Herb were all 4 star guitar prospects when were each 12 years old. Guess which one out of the three didn't put in the devotion and practice?
