Wow, Seth McLaughlin, the center giving the low snaps to Milroe in the playoff game, transferred to Ohio State!

I guess Saban fired him, or Saban chewed him out and he didn't like it.  Played at Gumps for 4 years, one year left to play.

Heard the Gumps center was getting death threats

Not surprising for a team whose fans poisoned an oak tree their rivals worshiped, and pissed on the head of a sleeping Tiger fan in the French Quarter after winning their natty.

Logan Diggs was a breakout star for the LSU Tigers in 2023, running for 653 yards and 7 touchdowns despite dealing with some injuries.

After the conclusion of the season, Diggs revealed he was entering the NCAA transfer portal. It came as a surprise to some, but it didn’t take the talented running back long to find a new program.
Will be going to Old Mrs.

FYI:

Nick Saban announced that he would be retiring on Wednesday, and with the landscape-altering decision comes another potentially game-changing outcome.

The entirety of Alabama’s football roster has now been granted the freedom to move on from the program. Any high school recruit in the Class of 2024 can be released from his national letter of intent as long as they have not been registered as “attended” at the university yet. And, any active player on the roster now has a 30-day window to transfer to another program following the announcement of Saban’s retirement.

LSU Adds Commitment From Liberty Star WR CJ Daniels

The Tigers add another talented weapon via the Transfer Portal, Daniels enters the mix.

LSU continues an impressive stretch this offseason with another commitment via the NCAA Transfer Portal. Liberty star wide receiver CJ Daniels is a Tiger after revealing his pledge to Brian Kelly’s program.

Daniels, who's been wined and dined by the top programs in America since entering the portal, announced his commitment to LSU after an official visit on Friday.

He had visited the likes of Texas and Oregon, among others, with the Bayou Bengals making a splash on Friday.

Alabama Has Full Class Worth of Players in Transfer Portal in Wake of Saban Retirement

Nick Saban’s retirement was always going to spur on questions about Alabama’s future. The fact that it comes in the transfer portal era creates an immediate issue for new coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff. As with many schools in similar situations, Alabama has seen a rash of entrants into the transfer portal in the weeks since the Menstrual Wave’s loss to Michigan at the Rose Bowl.

Wednesday morning saw one of the most impactful transfer decisions, as freshman All-American defensive back Caleb Downs reportedly began the process of entering the portal. He is already being connected to fellow SEC power Georgia, after defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson left Alabama’s staff to join Kirby Smart in Athens.

This is the latest news in a troubling, if unsurprising, trend for Alabama. According to 247Sports, Downs would be the 27th Menstrual Wave player to hit the portal. In total, Alabama is losing a large recruiting class worth of players.

Nineteen of those players are already committed to or enrolled at other programs, with a slew of players heading to peer programs like Florida State, Ohio State and Texas:

  • QB Tyler Buchner - committed to Notre Dame (lacrosse)
  • QB Eli Holstein - committed to Pitt
  • RB Roydell Williams - enrolled at Florida State
  • WR Malik Benson - enrolled at Florida State
  • WR Isaiah Bond - committed to Texas
  • WR Ja’Corey Brooks- committed to Louisville
  • WR Shazz Preston - committed to Tulane
  • TE Miles Kitselman - committed to Tennessee
  • OL Terrence Ferguson - enrolled at Florida State
  • OL Seth McLaughlin - committed to Ohio State
  • DL Anquin Barnes - committed to Colorado
  • DL Monkell Goodwine - committed to South Carolina
  • DL Isaiah Hastings - committed to Syracuse
  • LB Kendrick Blackshire - committed to Texas
  • LB Shawn Murphy - committed to Florida State
  • CB Earl Little II - enrolled at Florida State
  • CB Dezz Ricks - committed to Texas A&M
  • S Jake Pope - committed to Georgia
  • S Kristian Story - enrolled at Kentucky

So could tampering be involved if a player enters a portal and and commits to a school the same day? Two 5* guys from Gumps did that today.

Also, are we not trying for some of these guys because we have no room? What is our status? Are we expecting anymore?  I know we were having to shave some.

If y'all remembered what Dezz Ricks did during his commitment, you would know why lsu didn't even try for him.

He has 2 games under his belt and one is Chattanooga. I don't remember the other but it's nobody.  The only thing we missed there was wasting time and money on a likely locker room issue.

After what Kelly has done with coaching hires, why can't fans just trust him?

Bussey is the DB target we absolutely need. They'll get DTs by spring.

Y'all remember when Joe Burrow transferred? 5/20/18. May.

Be patient. Saban retiring reset everything. Recruiting, filling out staffs, all that.

We're at least 4 over the limit.  Gotta lose some to get some. I'm sure they have that under control too. Kelly controls everything. An adult is in charge now.

Baseball season can't get here soon enough

Kelly keeps it very close to the vest. Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever worn a vest 🙂

Yes, coaches use to call most kids high school coaches. Start there and move forward. Now, talking with a coach the other day, it use to be called tampering, now, this is the new normal.

The addition of safety Jardin Gilbert through the transfer portal marks a significant boost for LSU football as they gear up for the 2024 season. With Gilbert's rating rising from 91 to 93, he now stands as the highest-rated transfer addition for LSU in the current season, showcasing the team's commitment to quality over quantity in their defensive back recruits.

Gilbert's ascent in the rankings positions him as the No. 26 player nationally and the No. 2 safety, underscoring his potential impact on the team's defense. LSU's approach to the transfer portal reflects a strategic shift under Coach Brian Kelly, who aims to introduce

healthy competition and enhance the team's performance by bringing in seasoned players.

As LSU transitions from a period of low starting experience to having a wealth of seasoned players, including transfer acquisitions like Gilbert, the stage is set for competitive spring practices. Observers eagerly anticipate Gilbert's performance in the National L Club Spring

Game on April 13, recognizing it as a pivotal moment to gauge his impact and potential contribution to the team's success in the upcoming summer and fall seasons.

Overall, LSU's careful and strategic approach to the transfer portal, exemplified by the rise of Jardin Gilbert's rating, reflects a commitment to securing quality acquisitions in key positions to bolster the team's overall performance.

Heard Gio interviewed on the radio today. To heck with depth he says he’s coming to LSU to play!!! Great attitude. Wanted to play in a 4-3 defensive. Looking at DT position with his experience even if he doesn’t start he’ll very likely play a good bit. He is not looking forward to the heat but loves the food down here!

The Tigers have now lost two running backs in the transfer portal in as many days.

First, it was Armoni Goodwin, who announced his intentions to leave the program on Monday. Then, reserve running back Corren Norman followed suit on Monday, becoming the second overall LSU player to enter the portal following the conclusion of the regular season.

A preferred walk-on from Lafayette, Norman was a fifth-year senior in 2023 but will seek his sixth and final season of eligibility elsewhere, possibly somewhere with a scholarship opportunity.

In five years with the Tigers, Norman appeared in just 11 games, seeing one carry for seven yards back in 2020. He graduated from LSU in May with a degree in biological engineering.
